The verse just about explains itself.

Heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
Within the verse it says that you must believe <<< the word that explains the word faith>>> Faith is belief.
When you are asking God for something, within yourself you must have the conviction that He is hearing you and will answer your requests. Thus rewarding you for your belief in Him.

This is a key verse>>>How did you come by it?

Biblical definition:
"...faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. " Heb 11:1

In my personal experience, which I don't know whether to call 'faith' or not, there is the sure knowledge of Jesus' sacrifice and my salvation. A knowledge as sure as the trust that I put in a chair when I sit, or the belief that an airplane will rise into the sky when it moves fast enough.
This is a difficult question that you have asked with those three words.....

Faith is what you believe because you just know it and you don't require proof. Faith is that one thing that gets you through when there is nothing else. Faith and religion really don't have anything to do with each other. Faith is ultimately personal and is just between you and whatever you believe in; nobody can define or dictate your faith but your.

Faith is the evidence of things not seen or the evidence of things hoped for, read about Abraham who is said to be the father of Faith it is believing in God no matter what the circumstance.
That is why that pleases God as we are his children it makes him happy to see that we are obeying him even though what is around us may seem contrary to what God said he would do.

Faith to me is belief in God without any visible proof. God helps those who help themselves, so to me you either believe or not, based on your faith, not proven facts.

Jumping over a cliff without any assurance that someone will catch you.
Belief in God is the same thing.
Peace and every blessing!

God needs to lower His expectations. I know.

My Mother-In-Law is impossible to please, and it's been a pain in the butt ever since we got married. It's because I'm not 100% Irish. I'm 50% Irish and 50% Italian, so that's why she has never approved of me.

If God weren't so racist, and didn't have a problem with Italians, then maybe He and my Mother-In-Law would make life easier!

Faith is a sense of knowhow and wisdom that arises from both knowledge and observation and concludes a binding, emotional, eternal feeling to that which you believe in.

Both faith and deeds are necessary to please God.
