I have a craving for beer. I love the taste of it, and i never get drunk. I just drink it every day after work. I tried to find a new interest, so i found that i like chblis wine, thinking that i would drink less. I wound up buying it buy the 3 liter jug, probably every week. I never get out of hand or drunk, it's like water to me. I just don't understand how i can possibly consume so much in less time than everyone else, and be fine. Then go to bed like normal, and wake yup and be at work on time or early, and not even think about it until around 4pm, when i realize that it is almost 5pm again, and get all excited because i am going to go home and have a drink. I drink water alllll day and right before i go to bed, where i also keep water by my bed. what can i do to not want it so much?

If you really aren't getting buzzed and you don't think you have a problem, switch to Odule's, Sharps, or some other non-alcoholic beer. The amber Odule's is surprizing tasty. If you find yourself not wanting a third or fourth one, which I suspect may end up being the case, you probably have a drinking problem. If this is the case and you can't consume beer in moderation you should seriously consider AA.

Someone who HAS to drink more than one or two drinks, every single night has a drinking problem. YOu may not feel drunk* but i'm sure you wouldn't pass an alcohol test if you were given one after consuming your wine before going to bed. Seems like you're able to drink more than the night before or week before because your body is getting used to it. For now, it's not interupting with your work in the day...but eventually it Will catch up to you. It's also not doing any Good to your body. It's ok perhaps to have a glass of wine everynight...but not how you're consuming it. Alcohol also dehydrates your body, therefore you're soo thirsty in the day drinking alot of water and through the night.
I would really try NOT to have a drink all week and perhaps a few on the weekend...If you can't go one week without a drink You best be seeing your doctor for help. GoodLuck*

Just stop the withdraws arent that bad the doc can give you meds such as klonopin to help with the withdraws and you will have withdraws if your drinking that much and dont get drunk!!But if you really like drinking and not really wanting to stop just drink and be happy!!And the water helps alot with hangovers if you keep yourself hydrated you wont get hangovers and its a good thing to drink lots of water before, during and after you drink beer..I LOVE BEER and as long as its not causeing me any problems ill drink it till i die..Just dont keep changing to stronger stuff like whiskey and wine its alot harder habit to break then beer. i was hooked on wine and it had some serious withdraws i drank a 5th every night along with beer for 9 months every night when the wife was pregnant thought id get the partying out my system it was fun at the time but when it came time to stop it was not an easy task for 3 days i climbed the walls, had the shakes it was just awful. So now i stick with the beer about once a week or sometimes more with no problems at all..

I love the taste of beer too, but I'm on call for work every other week so I can't drink beer (I've never had a DUI, and don't want one).
I found that grabbing a couple of bottles of water helped me get over the "2 or 3 beers after work habit".
It worked for me, but I don't know if it'll work for you.
As for AA, you have to decide that for yourself...
Good luck.

Liking beer doesn't seem to be a problem to me, if you are concerned about alcoholism there are many brands of non alcoholic beer that taste just as good as the kind with alcohol.

Wow if you can't stop you got a problem, Mind power your mind is weak and getting beat by this. Its a fight and the longer you go the easier it gets. Maybe one day you can cut down a lot to where you can enjoy like once a week or twice a month

Lauren, what are you concerned about? Drinking is not wrong, and it sounds like you enjoy it without causing others or yourself problems. You don't need to give up alchohol. Quitting is not a very mature quality.

If it doesn't have a negative effect on you, what's the problem?
See if you can stop for a week or two, then go back. You're tolerance should go down.
