The photo that comes to mind was taken in the kitchen of the house I grew up in. It was taken by my father while I was eating cake in celebration of my first birthday. While I was wearing a diaper, the cake all over me covers me more. I no longer make such a mess eating. This picture is special to me because I wonder about the innocence of that child and where did it go.

I have two, they are very similar to each other. The first I have my daughter in my arms, she is 3 days old, in this really pretty pink outfit, she is draped over my arm and I am kissing her, the background of the picture is blurred with a glow around us, she has this beautiful peaceful look on her face. The second is of my son and he is 1 day old and I am kissing him and he has the same peaceful look on his face. Both were snapshots taken by my mom, but they came out so beautiful.
