I was wondering does your size affect your pregnancy? Say the girl is about 4'8 and 70 lbs? So an adult the size of a 12 year old. I was just wondering, how would the person's pregnancy go. Would it have more complications? thanks for any info. :)

I am a very small person...In fact my 7th grader is way bigger than me and so is his girlfriend!...Darn-It!....Any way I have carried two children with no problem......And all the other women in my family have to.....We are baby machines!....I don't even have stretch marks!....I don't think it is the size that really matters but more the overall health of the mother.....Bigger women actually have more trouble getting pregnant and delivering than small women do.....ss

Im 13wks. Im 4'11'' and so far i have had no problems with my pregnancy all my test come back normal and had ultrasound and the baby is healthy. I think it depends on the person. My mom had allot of problems and she is shorter by 3inches. and she was skinny. Im 120 the ideal weight my doc says and only gained 1 1/2 ibs for my first tri. I hope i don't have to have a c section. But my mom did with me and my brother. I have back pain some i just hope i don't get nothing seriouse that i cain't fix. But i just want a healthy baby like any mother would :)

I agree with the first answer. I was concerned about that during my pregnancy, as I am small too (but not quite that small), but my doctor said I shouldn't have any problem, and even said she delivered many babies in Mexico, where the women are also tiny, and none of them had any problems with it! I had a very easy pregnancy, like someone else, no stretch marks at all either! And the best part, I ended up with no problems at all, and a very healthy baby girl!

There might be complications at delivery, depending on how big the baby is and if it has room to fit through the pelvis.

Small women were having babies for eons, and they survived, the doctors will monitor the size of the baby the closer she gets to delivery, if the baby is too big, they will simply do a c-section.

It could. Whomever you are speaking of needs to see an OB-GYN. They can do measurements and advise her on the affects of her size in carrying a pregnancy full term and the ability to give birth naturally or by Cesarean section.

70 lbs is very underweight. Height has nothing to do with it. There may be complications because of the weight issue.
