I've been dealing with recurrent depression for more than 6 years now. Lately, I've begun losing weight but this past week, I've felt no urge to exercise. In the last four days I've also been eating horribly, despite my vow not to. I'm wondering if this is depression? I normally can exercise a little when I'm depressed, even more depressed than I am now, but right now I feel no urge and am making excuses for not goign to the gym or eating right. Any suggestions?

Call your psychiatrist and schedule extra counseling sessions now and request an evaluation of your anti-depressant in relation to every other pill you are taking, even vitamins and aspirin or whatever. You should never let depression get control of you when there are doctors and medicines to combat it. Bad weather affects mood more than anything for people with depression so turn on some extra lights in the house - lot of them. I have 4,000 watts of lamps and stuff in my living room this year. That is like 400 - 100 watt light bulbs. Good luck and take action - you are in charge and we are all behind you ready to help you with this fight.

change up your routine sometimes you just get in a rut and need new motivation, get a friend to help motivate you... plan stuff to gether if you know your friend is depening on you too you maybe more inclined to go. realize regular excercise actually helps combat your depression, dont wait to long to seek help. good luck.

even though you have no urge to exercise do it..knock it on the head now....motivation follows action....perhaps try different exercise or some other activity you enjoy...you might be getting bored...

It sounds like it definitely could be depression. I think you should go see your doctor.
