I want the AutoFilter button to be at a different location in my spreadsheet

Select the range of data that you need to be filtered (e.g. say cells A:3 to A:50) and then select the AutoFilter button. The small downward arrow in a box should appear in cell A:3 and will filter only the data in the data range that you had selected.

Hope that helps

(I've re-read the question - do you mean the downward arrow image?)

The only way I know of is to use multiple sheets. One sheet is where you do all your data manipulation, and the primary sheet simply mirrors it.

EXAMPLE:

I enter data into column A of sheet 2, and make the top entry the AUTOFILTER.

Then, on sheet 1, I make the cell under column A equal to whatever the corresponding cells are in sheet2.

Now, anytime I make a change to sheet 2 using the AUTOFILTER for column A, Coulmn A of sheet one will update also.

The benny is that sheet 1 will not have the AUTOFILTERS on it and it will look a lot cleaner.

Thats all I could suggest. However, try the source link below; its an AUTOFILTER Tutorial.

Good Luck!

No it has to be in the title of the column... the top row.

Why do you need it somewhere else.. perhaps there is another way round this...
