Asking how to become a road worker in the rail section isn't really the best start on a new career!

Well - first off you need to be at least 19 stone -have jeans that sit below your big gut and expose at least 25% of your buttcheeks! Then you need to be able to sit at the side of the road doing nothing (with the exception of holding a mobile phone and a cup of tea) for 7 hours out of every 8hours!

You will aslo need the ability to be able to throw road cones at least three feet away from the desigated spot and walk away laughing! An ability to hold a big lollipop with stop and go on each side is an advantage!

You might be OK!!

become an irishman, they are notoriously the best at road and groundworks..........seriously though, talk to a local college about what courses would be advantageous, or maybe talk to the council and see what requirements they have for a roadworkers job.........ring people and get as much info as you can!
good luck!

It might be helpful if you contacted the Leeds City COuncil and asked them that question.

Can you sit in a lorry cab & read the SUN? All you need!

Seriously, try the council as already said.
