What is actually up with you? What practical help could anyone on here really offer you? Genuinely - I'm interested to know what it is you are looking for on here because you just seem to keep asking the same question again and again - what answer are you waiting for?

You do realise that the 'Elephant man' otherwise known as John (or Joseph) Merrick (Yes he was a person with a REAL name) actually died due to his injuries... they were more than just a facial deformity... they got progressively worse, interrupted his breathing, his speach, and his physical quality of life as well as the mental quality.

On top of that, he was sold to a freak circus and made to be starred at and laughed at, whist being physically whipped and chained throughout his life.... I am pretty sure his life was a lot worse than you seem to think.

I find it quite distateful that you (a) keep calling him "the elephant man" rather than his true name and (b) say that your injuries are acutally WORSE than his when you don't seem to realise what his life was like.... have you read the book or watched the film? I would recommend it.. it might give you some perspective.

In all the questions of yours that I have read I have never heard you say that these injuries are physically deteriating your health so I really wish you would STOP comparing yourself to someone who (from what I can gather) had it far worse than you.

On top of that I really want to know what you want from us? You are constantly getting answers to your questions from people who genuinely care... and yet you are still repeating them.... so people are obviously not telling you what you want to hear... no one here can wave a magic wand... it is up to you to take the plunge... take the step outside the front door and get some help.

Ok so you may have to experience a few comments on the way but once you get to where you want to be it will really be worth it.. honestly.. take the step... if you want the surgery then visit a few clinics... if you are depressed then visit the doctors... but you need to actually speak to someone to get this resolved.

Hi, you didn't say how you are disfigured? And if you were born disfigured?

Anyway, thats not important to my answer....

If you are disfigured in a way that can be helped, then why don't you go to your doctors and ask for advice and to be refered to the appropriate person that may be able to help you in the way of surgery?

Also, you can ask your doctor to recommend someone who you can go and talk to and get support from, as in a counselor.

Finally, i'm sure you've heard this before - its whats inside that counts and anyone with any intellegence can recognise this and will not judge you, let alone laugh.

However, i urge you to seek help. If your disfigurement can be improved, then go for it.

Best of luck.xx

Disfigurements are horendous. However, Yahoo Answers is really not the place to keep you sane. You have ask many questions and are pretty much linked with this with one exeption (sissor sisters). Anyway if you are having severe problems with your looks first step is the doctors NOT YAHOO ANSWERS. Take care and i hope that you get the help you need.

If you are comfortable with yourself don't worry what other people think. As they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some people just don't understand thats why they laugh.

Why do you draw attention to it yourself. Your name is Disfigure... You haven't said what your disfigurement is. Tell us more. Do people really laugh?
