My father died three years ago, and I'm getting married on 07-07-07. My uncle, on my mother's side, is walking me down the aisle, and I am going to dance with him at the reception. What song do I pick? Any Suggestions? (Please no Wind Beneath My Wings, It's played too much and I want something other than that) I thank everyone for their suggestions. Have a Great Day !! :)

Thanks Co-Coa. I am also planning to dance with my mom. We are going to dance to "You can't lose me" By Faith Hill.

I would pick My Wish by Rascal Flats listen to the words if you dont like country it isn't a song that has to be any one person in your life to you. It is about the person wishing you happiness and having all your dreams come true it could be anyone. I played this for a wedding as the attendants walked down the aisle it was fantastic. If you want a song for you and your mom to dance to in memory of your dad try Holes in Floor of Heaven by Steve Azar (i think. positive on name of song just not artist)

I also lost my father. The song that reminds me of him is Faith Hill's song from Pearl Harbor soundtrack, There You'll Be.

When I think back on these times
And the dreams we left behind
Ill be glad to know that I was blessed to have you in my life
When I look back on these days
Ill look and see your face
You were right there for me

In my dreams Ill always see you soar above the sky
In my heard there'll always be a place for you for all my life

Ill keep a part of you with me
And everywhere I am there you'll be

It's a beautiful song.

I think you sit with your mom and pick a song. Just listen to several different tracks that you like.

And, I also suggest (just a suggestion) that you dance with your mom! I've seen it done only one time. It's really cute, and the mom is usually left out. And since your dad is no longer there, dance to something like Butterfly Kisses or something. That's a sweet song.

Congrats, and wish ya well with everything!

i think you should pick a song in memory of your dad even though your going to dance with your uncle

michael bolton~Butterfly kisses~
There's two things I know for sure:
She was sent here from heaven and she's
daddy's little girl.
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night
She talks to Jesus and I close my eyes and
I thank god for all the joy in my life
Oh, but most of all
For butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer;
sticking little white flowers all up in her
hair; "Walk beside the pony, Daddy, it's my first ride."
"I know the cake looks funny, Daddy, but I sure tried."
In all that I've done wrong I know I must
have done something right to deserve a hug
every morning and butterfly kisses at night.

Sweet 16 today
She's looking like her mama a little more everyday
One part woman, the other part girl.
To perfume and make-up from ribbons and curls
Trying her wings out in a great big world.

But I remember
Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer; sticking
little white flowers all up in her hair.
"You know how much I love you, Daddy, But if you
don't mind I'm only gonna kiss you on the cheek this time."
With all that I've done wrong I must have done
something right to deserve her love every morning
and butterfly kisses at night.

All the precious time
Like the wind, the years go by.
Precious butterfly.
Spread your wings and fly.

She'll change her name today.
She'll make a promise and I'll give her away.
Standing in the bride-room just staring at her.
She asked me what I'm thinking and I said "I'm not
sure-I just feel like I'm losing my baby girl."
She leaned over...gave me butterfly kisses with her mama there,
Sticking little white flowers all up in her hair
"Walk my down the aisle, Daddy-it's just about time."
"Does my wedding gown look pretty, Daddy? Daddy, don't cry!"

Oh, with all that I've done wrong I must have
done something right.
To deserve your love every morning and butterfly
kisses-I couldn't ask God for more, man this is what love is.

I know I gotta let her go, but I'll always remember
every hug in the morning and butterfly kisses.

I admire, yet I could believe ?Sassy Gal 2? it rather is a huge song. besides have a action picture star, and in case you like them that lots it rather is a robust sign, don't be embarrassed or ashamed to coach what you like, that's the others who could experience ashamed in the event that they do no longer admire your flavor. And continually deliver song on your existence.

Go on the internet and look up wedding songs, they will even let you hear song clips. Don't listen to "nanny", if you pick her song...your in for a disaster and no wonder why she is divorced. She wrote it was "kewl", that should explain it right there. LOL
