I was wondering if anyone knows, can you catch a cold from using the same telephone as someone who has one? And if so, then what should you do about it?

Thanks to the people who answered...I also wanted to add - what if an infected person has used the phone and then you use it afterwards before doing anything to disinfect it, what are your chances of getting a cold?

And one more thing (VERY important!) - if you do use a telephone that's been infected by someone with a cold, then if you take an echinacea tablet, will it help to prevent you from cathing their cold?

Yes. Wipe the phone down with rubbing alcohol or 10% bleach solution after the infected one uses it. Wash your hands frequently.
