Your question is rather confusing, as you could be talking about a tooth partially covered and needs the tissue removed for eruption and comfort, or you could be referring to perio disease surgery.

So I'm going to take a guess that its perio disease and they are recommending surgery to remove the tissue and eliminate the pockets that you're unable to keep clean due to the depth of them, which keeps an active infection along with pain. The only solution to the problem or disease is to either have the perio surgery or have the tooth extracted. But let me say that if you have one tooth in that condition, then your other teeth are in jeopardy of the disease. You should have a professional cleaning and exam to evaluate the condition and set up a treatment plan to avoid the loss of other teeth. It can be treated, but not if you don't initiate the treatment. Perio disease is an active infection that not only affects the teeth but is running its course through the whole body as well. It's all up to you and if you want to save your teeth or want to wear dentures. Hope I've reinforced just what the other doctors have told you. It's not as difficult as you imagine, but perio disease is. Good luck!

Additional information: If you've been to three dentist and they all said the same thing and gave you pain medication, they will probably not prescribe any more until you resolve the problem with the surgery or removal. Dentist have been getting more and more careful about prescribing pain medication with the patient not moving forward with treatment, and pharmacies are just as cautious and are known to report suspected abuse of narcotics. I would hate for you to be considered as one of those patients. Just thought you might not be aware of this. Good luck and I hope you do get this taken care of as it will not heal on it's own.

Depends. I got two fillings at once and only one hurt after ward. There maybe an infection or its just pressure on the tooth from the filling. Take some pain killers, mainly ibeprophin. If it still hurts in one week later call ur dentist.

If you are talking about gum tissue over your molar aching, I had that problem as a teenager. I had to chew very carefully or I'd be in extreme pain. I never told the dentist (or my parents) I just lived with it. Somewhere in my late teens it stopped happening.

If you are talking about your tooth hurting because of your gums pressing on it? I don't know.

Sorry I can't help you more.
