Once the U.S. installed those missile defense sites in Poland and the Czech Republic, then this will start an escalation. The Russians will then have the right to install their missile defense systems in Cuba and Venezuela (which both Castro and Chavez will gladly welcome). China can then do the same in Tibet and South Africa.

Why should the Russians have a problem with a limited missile defense? The system we are putting in can stop a handful of missiles - the Russians have hundreds.
IMO a batter question is: "Why are we putting in missile defense sites (that we are paying for) to protect Europe anyway?"

nobody cares about the Russians and it has nothing to do with them. it just hurts their big Russian pride that the US is so close to their borders. Do you think china likes us in japan and south Korea....and Taiwan? oh well, you can't please everyone. They US needs these newly democratic states as allies in a key region in the world, so why not strengthen that relationship? If they are OK with it, as they said they are, and the US doesn't mind, then why not? Let's all make out with Poland and not care what Russia thinks. Next time they won't spend all their money on vodka and lose the cold war.

You seem to forget that the Russian Premiere was actually the head of the old Soviet KGB and has close trade ties to another country named Iran. Who do you think is supplying Iran with it's nuclear reactor? If anyone is trying to start another Cold War it would be Russia doing it in the background while wearing a concerned face for the rest of the world in public. You can't trust Putin. Watch him speak once, you'll never see him look anyone in the eyes.

They're missile defense sites, not missile sites. There is a difference and the Russians know it.
Russia does not see this as a major threat, they're just using it to make a little noise.

Russians are providing anti-aircraft missiles to Iran. Iran is using these lethal machines to guard its nuclear facilities against a US air strike.
So, the United States has THE RIGHT to provoke the Russians. No one can manipulate us. No one can cheat us. No one can blackmail us. Russians sowed the seed and they will reap what they sowed.
They help Iran = we help Poland & Czech Republic.
YOU said:
"US expansion into Eastern Europe is just pointless in my opinion and can only make the world more dangerous than it already is."
So, wrong...our "expansion" is actually making the world safer by stopping the spread of a totalitarian power hell bent on anti-US world dominance.

It is Putin that is trying to re-start the Cold War. First he has clamped down on civil liberties within Russia. Putin has shut down opposition newspapers and replaced government officials loyal to himself.
Next he is trying to squeeze economically all those independent nations that are trying to join the west, i.e Ukraine, Georgia. He is accused of sending assasins to London to kill Alexander Litvinenko.

As protection from Iran.
First of all its not like we are doing secretly
Second:The systems don't have the capability to take out missles as advanced and large as the Russians have.
Putin has the same "attention Whore"complex that Kim Jong suffers from.

You actually believe the cold war ended? How could anyone buy such tripe? I suggest you look closer at the actions of Russia and China over the past decade and read some Sun Tzu while you are at it.
