This is a very interesting question. I hope I can answer it satisfactorily.
First of all, no, Christianity was not named until a few years after Jesus (whose given name was actually Yeshua, or Yoshua, which was a very common name. I'd be willing to bet that if He had been born in modern times, in the US, His name would have been John Smith.). Jesus was a Jew. However, He pointed out that many of the Jewish traditions no longer had any meaning (for example, the restrictions on food, and the sacrifice of animals).
Secondly, Jesus never said that anyone should pray directly to Him. However, He did say that not only was He the Son of God, He actually WAS God in human flesh! His followers did believe Him though, and since they were there, I believe them.
Thirdly, Jesus fulfilled the prophesies in the Old Testament. All of the prophesies were written hundreds of years before Jesus was born. One of the prophesies was that He would be led to the slaughter like a lamb. This is in Isaiah, I believe, though I don't know the exact verse off the top of my head.
Jewish custom involved sacrificing animals for the absolution of sin. It is assumed that since Jesus fulfilled the prophesies, HE was to be the final sacrifice. Also, Jesus Himself says that "whoever believes in Me WILL be saved." This is in the Gospels, but once again, I don't know the exact verse off the top of my head. I can get them if you'd like, though.
Fourthly, as for whether or not it can be proven that Jesus's exact words were used, I think it can. See, the books in the New Testament were begun within ten years after Jesus's ascension. If I'm not mistaken, the book of Luke was compiled using eyewitness testimony, although Luke himself wasn't there. HIS story is mostly cohesive with the other three Gospels (Matthew, Mark, and John). Now, if you saw something as memorable as a Man raising people from the dead, healing them with a touch of His hands, expelling demons, changing water into wine, being crucified and then appearing IN THE FLESH three days later, all the while claiming that not only was He the Son of God, but WAS in fact God Himself, wouldn't you remember what He had to say?
Let me put it this way: Don't people who saw Martin Luther King Jr give his "I have a dream" speech remember many of the things he said? And he didn't even claim to be the Son of God! He was just a progressive who started a revolution! People still remember Neil Armstrong saying "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." People remember JFK saying "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." People remember FDR stating that Pearl Harbor was a "day of infamy." Why wouldn't Jesus's followers remember what He said?
And remember, back then, people weren't distracted by TV shows, radio, movies, commercials, billboards, et cetera. All they ever DID was memorize things. By the age of thirteen, Jewish boys had the ENTIRE Old Testament memorized, as well as their lineage. Of COURSE they'd be able to remember the Son of God's words!
I hope this answers your questions. Sorry it was so long. If you have more questions, feel free to email me at farkas419@yahoo.com. I'd be glad to try to answer them.

Seems you have a very reasonable question since it would look like Jesus is the almighty God but he is actually the son of God and he is called in the Bible a powerful God not the almighty which is his father and his name is Jehovah and two different people obviously. (John 14:28) All prayers are directed to God almighty since the beginning of times (Genesis 24:14, Judges 16:28-30) After Jesus die he became the sacrificial lamb in order to eliminate all our sins therefore now we pray to Jehovah but asking all through Jesus name this way we value, respect and accept Jesus sacrifice. Isn't that more likely don't you think?

One of the requirements for circulated letters and writings to be put in the Bible is that the author spent time with Jesus. Jesus taught us how to pray to the Father IE. in Jesus' name. The Bible says that Jesus willingly went to the cross.
It is a Christians belief that
"Gods word will not return void but will accomplish the purpose that is was intended"
Although God is not willing that any perish, there will still be those that will not believe.
Just food for thought. Christians believe that God ordered the 120,000 base pairs of even the simplest known life form or 1300 of the simplest virus. We can scientifically estimate that less than a dozen could have arranged them self through chance over 1.37e9 years and 3e53kg matter.

The Books of Kings and the Chronicles are so as. they offer us a foundation for the timeline. The prophets wrote at certain time contained in the Hebrew historic previous and may want to be present day in Kings and the Chronicles. they are grouped at the same time because they are prophets somewhat than being stuck contained in the middle of historic previous. the recent testomony is finished of historic options that instruments if firmly the position it belongs. The previous testomony is the e book of the Jews. The Jews were the selected human beings of God and the position given the guidelines and commandments. in case you fairly study the Bible you'll locate that many of the encompassing cultures knew the about the Torah and understood there replaced into something distinct about the Hebrews. once you're going to appreciate God then you fairly want to entice close the former testomony to get a starting up and an expertise of why the recent testomony exists. 1Timothy is on the topic of Christians the position there have been nonbelievers and sacrifices made to the community Gods and replaced into assume to have magical means. The sacrifical meat might want to be bought and Paul replaced into telling Timothy now to not devour that meat if it might want to reason new Christians to stumble. Jesus had followers, believers, apostles and disciples when he was alive... so they would have been the first Christians...
Jesus said that none would come to the Father (God) except thru Him... meaning that He is our only intercessor needed between us and God... and prayers in His name reach God
Jesus said many times that he would die and why.... before and after his death.
The bible would have been written after his death ... following Him was not right according to the 'religious' leaders (Pharisees) and people would be killed for their beliefs. The fact that it was written by many people and all the accounts line up with one another helps because they were not in the same place at the same time when they wrote their books/writings ... and handwriting books and letters would take a LONG time to compile, but still, they line up with one another ... some have more details.. but they are the same...
lastly, you need to have faith ... the Holy Spirit helps you know what is true or not... and guides you thru the Word knowing that it is God Inspired and truly His Word to us

Okay Christianity came from people mocking the followers of Jesus and they called them christians, because they were "CHRIST"like. Therefore Christianity couldn't have been taken place before Christ. Jesus never asked his disciples to pray for Him, but with Him. Jesus assignment was to come here to Earth to die for all men that includes you. He just didn't die for christians, because the word of God says while we were yet SINNERS, this means everybody, he died for US. The only thing is you have to believe this and accept the fact that Christ is your savior, and if He had not die for the sins of the WORLD, there wouldn't be christians. I hate these little names and titles, because it's like we're segregated. The only thing that is different about a chrisitan than a non-christian is that, real christians have received a savior whose name is Jesus, because of this they are forgivien for all sins. Do Jesus want everyone to accept the fact that He love those and wants no one lost? Certainly!! But the truth of the matter is you'll have to come to this for yourself. I can't make you receive salvation, all I can do is tell you that God will show up in your life like never before if you trust Him enough to do it. The scripture says that all scripture is God-breathed, so that means all these people who had the awesome opportunity to write these books did it under the leading and the spirit of God.

Christianity as we know and loathe...erhem...love it today, was not the same belief system as what Jesus would have been preaching/practicing or following. Jesus was in essence a Jewish Rabbi, a religious man in a very religious community. A repressed community.
Jesus asked his followers to pray to God, not to him. If he were to tell his followers to pray to him he would be breaking a lot of laws in his own religion -- he wouldn't have done that!
Jesus didn't really accept his fate to die "father why have you forsake me." It makes it plausible to believe that Jesus was not dying to clean the sins of the world, but was made to be a great martyr after his death.
I truly think Jesus was an intelligent progressive rebel. If he were to be compared to anyone I would compare him to...Ben Franklin. ha ha. He wanted freedom for his people, and the "ruling" government to go away.
You are right the New Testament was written well after his death, and that of his true followers, disciples. The works that actually were written closer to the time of his life have been declared heresy.
Christianity is warped.
I say...don't follow a religion.
Follow ideals and ideas.
Be a human being, a spiritual human being before following a religion.
You can have God without having a congregation.

Let me explain
Jesus christ - was not even his name , his name was Yeshau(my spelling of the name coould be incorrect) , It was a hebrew name, Jesus was born Jewish & he never changed to Christianity.
Jesus never stated anywhere in the Bible that his followers should be christian or that christianity is the name of his religion.
Christ was not his surname because in those days people didnot have surnames instead they would say : (Yehashua the son of Marry, grandson of .........) thats how they would explain someones family status or heritage.
Jesus does not mention that his followers must pray to him , they assume that they should pray to him just like they assume that he is the son of God. Jesus was not the son of God , he was the messenger of God.

Jesus did not die on the cross because logic will tell you that the bibles explanation of events are miscalculated.

It is inconvenient to believe Jesus said what He said, because that puts the responsibility on us to accept His WORD, or reject it. So people discount His WORD, and decide He didn't say what He said.
