I posted an algorithm a while back for approximating the cost of a tattoo (and got best answer, w00t!), assuming a good - ie, not cheap - & moderately fast artist.
It was roughly 12 sq inches per hour @ $100 per hour. So, figure out the size of what you're looking for, then plug & chug. Without knowing what you want to do on color, shading, size & such, but guessing on average human size... nothing too complicated, being on the order of the size of a hand-held cross (6" x 4"), a *very* rough guess is 3 hours and ~$300.
There are so many variables, though, that I can see this varying down to
a mere hour (tiny & simple) to 8+ (large & complicated), with the requisite price change.

It depends on where you go and how big it is. also if you want color it will be more. I have a 6in color sunflower on my back and it was $100. it also doesn't have much detail. I would figure on atleast $100 for yours. Go to the tattoo parlors in your area and talk to the artists, maybe make a sketch. They will be able to give you an idea. I would say between $100 and $200 though.
Also, mine hurt a little on the bone but the rest was fine. on your sholder blade will probably hurt more than mine did but if you have some muscle or are not very skinny you will be fine with the pain.

The basic rule of thumb is $100 per hour. Extreme detail or lots of color may be a bit more. I have a Celtic cross on my blade about 6' by 6' black stone work. A friend of mine did it so I can't really give you an accurate price. But don't let people scare you, the shoulder blade area isn't anything you can't handle as far as the pain. ;)

there is no way for anybody on here to tell you how much a tattoo will cost you. you didn't say how big it will be. some artists charge by the size/piece and some charge by the hour. it really all depends on the artist, so the best thing you can do is to consult the person you will have the tattoo done by.

Tattoo artists that I'm familiar with in NJ charge by the hour. The more complicated the design, the longer it takes, the more it costs.
I used a very expert, reputable artist who charged $100. an hour had an one and a half hour session=$150.
