With millions of dollars being spent on this war, you'd think our soldiers would be provided with basic necessities such as soap, toothpaste, etc.

These items are in the military supply system. IIRC they are called "Class Six Sustainment Packages." These are boxes of personal hygiene items that are color coded - 'red' for females and blue for males.

Generally, these are only seen on contingency operations where the troops do not have access to a PX.

That is an old army tradition. Soldiers are provided a clothing allowance of which some of it is to go toward purchasing soap, shaving cream, etc. However, given the neccessity of personal hygiene it is odd that they do not issue it. My assumption is that every individual has different skin, tastes that it would burden the military supply system to try and provide a generic soap that is non-allergenic to every soldier. It is far easier to to give them the cash and buy thier own.

That's been answered for you, indeed those items are provided for including personal choice of quality brand name products.

What you don't want to see is additional future military funding cuts such as were done repeatedly during Clinton's 8 years. It'd be wrong if what they do still have was taken from the troops who volunteered to serve America and keep Americans safe.

PLAIN BS what you are saying. Plenty of soap in military. What is this some kind of a Hilary thing on here?

Imagine a soldier in military taking orders from Hilary or Obama the green 2 term senator kid from Chicago. Youl be more worried about the military than supplying them soap then.

Ask the Democrats, in Congress, who are trying to cut their
funding.

The gov't doesn't even give them equipment to keep their a$$es safe, let along toiletry items!! AND they aren't compensating soldiers coming back wounded and maimed....it's horrifying how this gov't is treating our soldiers...they are volunteer who lay down their lives for our safety, and the gov't can't even take care of these brave men & women. It's an absolute disgrace!!!!!
