I left an abusive marriage and my friends told me they would be there for me and no one has returned my calls. I prayed about money owed to me and I didn't get the check even though it really was mailed to me. God knows my financial needs and I feel that God must be angry at me and I'm being punished. I'm trying to do the best I can and it feels like it's never good enough. I feel sad and really alone. Does God turn a deaf ear to my prayers when I pour my heart out to Him and did He turn his face away from me? My preacher says that God does not hear our prayers if we have sin in our life.

My son's a diabetic and needs insulin, syringes and food. I have no money for these things let alone anything else. I wasn't praying for money out of greed, I prayed for it just to survive. I guess God said no, you're on your own, you figure out what to do. There's no need to feel sorry for myself, I'll roll my sleeves up and take care of it the best I can.

God is not angry with you...nor punishing you. God continues to love you unconditionally.

If a sinner speaks the truth...it is still the truth. The sins of the speakers does not change what is said.
God hears all pure prayers...a pure prayer by a sinner is still a pure prayer.

God is always there with arms wide open (so to speak). If you can not feel God's love, it is because you will not accept it. You feel alone because you do not feel God's presence. Open up to God and surrender to God.

Everything will be fine...as long you are keep trying and persevere (God will add support to your pure actions).

I think that your preacher may be full of something, and it isn't wisdom about what God does.

Things happen. God does not want you to stay in a relationship that is harmful to you, Nor does He interfere with the US mail to punish people. In short God is not an idiot.

God cannot help but hear your prayers. Jesus told us that the kingdom of the father was within each and every one of us.

This means that He is not to be found on a far off cloud called heaven, or in a building called a church.

He can only be found where Jesus predicted he would be. He exists right here within each and every one of us, as a living part of us.

For this reason we should turn within to find Him exactly where Jesus predicted he could be found.

Unless of course you feel that brother Jesus was wrong about this. It seems that your preacher does, I think that he may be a bit confused.

God does care but free willers don't,not saying that you are.

What your preacher told you was wrong because God does hear all prayers and some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers and not meaning to offend because that is not my intentions here but after reading your details to your question it is very clear to me why God may have not answered your prayers.

Let me explain :

You left an abusive marriage of which I'm sure God will forgive you under the circumstances but then you seemed to rely too much on others and because they let you down in your time of need you resent them and probably have not forgave them.
Also, your prayer for money with the ideal of getting money from people who owes you seems to be more about greed than need.
Yes, God does know about your financial needs but how you went about praying to God about it as you have said here was wrong.
God really doesn't punish anyone but it is we that mostly punishes ourselves.
God does listen to our prayers but it is how we pray to God and it is God's plan for us that determines how God answers.
Seems to me like you are being tested in the same manner as Job was but differently than Job.
Be wise and slow to jump to conclusion, think before you act or respond to things and others.

stop feeling angry with yourself. true you can be punished for sins but God loves you so dearly that nothing can seperate you from His love, NOT EVEN SIN. Rom 8:37-39
Repent of your sin, do not blame yourself for the abusive marriage; it is good that you left!
being confident of God's love for you, pull yurself together and live in freedom. you need to be confident and fight this battle; a cast down warrior can never triumph.
it doesn't matter if your friends have left, in due time they will return.
God loves you so much! let your soul feed on that daily.
i have prayed for you because i know how you feel. i've been there but thank God by His grace i have been out of there.
love you so much!
be encouraged.

I normally agree with Don and this time isnt different.

I do believe that theres a special place in each persons heart where Gods domain is.

Thats why sufi muslims consider it a sin to break another persons heart, for it is akin to breaking a domain of God.

Keep the faith and remember, faith does not fail. Humans do. So leave some space for error in your and anyone elses judgement. And remember to trust no one but God and work and strive for the best in anything. Keep the faith hon for theres always a solution.

I suppose you should keep on praying...Think about how much Christ suffered for our salvation and nobody was there beside Him. If He could resist, you can too. Pray to God for forgiveness and I am sure He will listen to your prayers. Faith is the one thing you must never lose! Perhaps it is hard for you now, but many people went through similar troubles and they made it. Be strong and do not lose your faith!

You need a new preacher hon, of course God hears the sinner ... how can they get forgiveness if God won't even listen? Your preacher needs to be smacked upside the back of the head for suggesting something like that to you.

You are setting yourself up for a fall with all of your despondency. You are having an "oh woe is me" spasm, and it's not the way to handle it hon. I could go on and on, but how about you instead visit Joel Osteen's site and get some hope? How about instead of wallowing in your troubles you sing the praises of God because He's going to save you?

Now, please understand that I don't agree with all of Joel's philosphies, but for inspiration and hope he just can't be beat.

Friend, God does hear your prayers, it is satan that tries to make you think that God is not listerning, Your pastor is wrong, God does hear the prayers of a sinner, How would he be able to forgive if he did not hear a sinners prayer. You say your marriage was abusive, you had every reason to leave, God don't expect anyone to live in fear. You say you are doing your best & it seems like it is not enouh, Just go to God just as you are. Then let God change you, & you not change yourself.

When you reach the lowest point in your life. That's when God will take over. If you haven't been faithful to him, he may turn a deaf ear to you. But he will not abandon you.
God sometimes causes us to suffer to bring us back to him. So, don't give up. Better days are coming.

Luke 18:1-8..One day Jesus told his disciples a story to illustrate their need for constant prayer and to show them that they must never give up....Prayer is to be consistent and persistent. Prayer is asking God for guidance and waiting for his direction and leading. We can be confident of God's response to our prayer when we submit first to his will. If we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong.
