I read that medically the healthiest way to sleep is on your back because it keeps your spine aligned and not contorted and the side is second if u have something between your legs, and the stomach is the unhealthiest because of your neck being vulnerable to pain...which is why I sleep on my stomach...not very logical I know.

The most appropriate way to sleep with out causing undue stress to your spine is either flat on your back or on your side with your knees bent (similar to the fetal position.) I suffer Scoliosis and it's the healthiest for your spine and body.

On your back or your side. The important thing is to keep your spine in its natural curving shape and your airway unrestricted.
