Well medications are not one thing that you can just stop taking! My anxiety and other problems that I have I have to take something called Ativan under my toung and let it dissolve. It is the best medication I have ever been perscribed!
When you start to feel that way you just put it under your toung. within 5 minutes your all better!

Find out what is causing your anxiety....is it driving? stress? tests? etc. If it is driving, take it slow, try to figure out what in the past happened, like wrecks etc, that is causing your anxiety. Then do what you can to get over it, even try couseling. If it's test anxiety, they have workshops for that or you can get help from a teacher or another student. If it's stress, find the cause of your stress, kids, spouse/significan other, work....and figure out ways to release that. Go for a walk, take a nap, watch a movie alone. I've got real bad anxiety, and I've tried it all...I know the causes of most of mine, but still ended up on a low dosage of Celexa....and it helps a lot. I'm able to drive back and forth to school every night now without problems, I can deal with my stress better. I really suggest medication though if it's that bad. You don't stay on it your whole life. They put you on it, then at every visit they ask you questions. Once you start answering the way they feel you should, they start to lower your dosage until you are completely off of it. It's not addictive, so you don't have to worry about that either.

We all suffer from anxiety, but to
different degrees.
Some realistic ways to counter
anxiety are:
Hard physical activity, such as
work and exercise programs.
Get plenty of rest.
Eat a balanced diet.
Really, these things work.

This is totally random, but I was able to get to a dr in NY and got completely off of antidepressants for anxiety after 7 years!!!! It has been 4 months and I take a couple whole food supplements and it completely balances me out - I feel sooooo much better not on medicine. Other things I do are exercise, eat right, try to sleep a decent amount - I am not 100%, but who is?? :) I have listed the link below to the place I go - the dr I see is Shari Black

I have found only one way to relieve my anxiety. I have to look inside myself whenever I see myself stressing and mentally list the possibilities and the possitives and negatives of each.
When I have done that I decide if I can live with the possibilites. Even when the possibilites are death of myself or a loved one, I remember that I am not in control of anything and that I can live with any outcome.
I hope this helps.

There are lots of things you can do to try and relieve anxiety...
Meditation and relaxation- Invest in some burning oils, scented candles, soothing music, bubble bath, etc. anything which makes you feel comforted and pampered. Everyone is different, so you have to find something that suits you. Typically, rose and lavender are very popular when it comes to relaxation.
Exercise- Sometimes playing a sport or doing some slow exercise can help to relieve stress- try getting an exercise video or starting pilates or yoga. This will get your blood pumping and endorphines flowing, which will promote happiness and essentially relieve stress.
Exchange massages with your partner.
If you go into naturopathic shops, they usually provide a whole bunch of resources for beating anxiety- you can try relaxation techniques, such as breathing and muscle control- visualisation is also a helpful one, as well as drinking soothing tea's and cutting out caffeine and other stimulant's from your diet.
Whether or not you believe in Feng Sui, having a room clear of clutter can amazingly enough help a person to feel more 'cleansed' and relieved... try to keep your sleeping space, or the place where you spend most of your time clean and allow for proper flow of air and space for movement.
