The question is two fold. First do you think it is appropriate for members of the wedding party to wear any white at all? The dress is two pieces the top is a halter that is a little longer with a cute narrow sparkly belt. The skirt is floor length in tulip colors (solids)....not sure yet if all the girls should be one color or stay with the rainbow wedding....but before we decide, we need input on bridal party also wearing white. Second part of the question has to do with pictures....I was wondering, since white tends to "spread" will it be more difficult to get good pics with more white... or maybe its not a concern with todays digital cameras (lol I am dating myself). thanks all....and God Bless

What you describe sounds lovely. It's "your" wedding.

If you're worried about contrast in photos - that's the photographer's job. Make sure you tell him/her about the white dresses, that you want great photos and he/she better go check out the lighting at the ceremony and reception site so they can get the right shots.

Have a beautiful wedding! :-)

P.S. Just saw the dress - it's gorgeous! Go with your heart on this one. :-)

I think that white bride's maids could look very lovely, just make sure that the pictures are taken in a very colorful area - I would say outside like in a garden setting - lots of trees/flowers or in a very formal setting. Otherwise, yes, I think that white dresses might not make the "picture" you would like (even though it would be lovely in the ceremony - you have the pictures forever).

If you go with white, I would stick to an all white dress with maybe a sash, belt, or other accent in a color or a rainbow of colors.

Bridesmaids and groomsmen were originally supposed to stand up with the bride and groom to confuse the bad spirits that supposedly would bring bad luck to the marriage. With this in mind, the white seems appropriate. I thnk the belt is adorable and a rainbow of them would look awesome. As long as you keep the background dark, the photos should turn out okay. That has a lot to do with the photographer.

Are you the bride? If so, allow me to say that I absolutely applaud you. Some women's hearts would stop beating at even the thought that some of their guests (let alone their bridesmaids) would show up in white.

You are first class, and your husband to be is a lucky man.

In my opinion, all of the white will make it look like a mass wedding (LOL). But perhaps you can have the dressed dyed, if it fits into your budget, or add appliqués to the dresses so that they are distinguishable from your gown.

Have a wonderful wedding!

We wore this dress, but in strapless for my best friends wedding this past summer. (white top, cornflower blue skirt and belt)The belt really helps set the white off quite nicely. As for your question, no its not too much white. I stood right next to the bride and we were smushed together it looked good. As long as you do the skirt in a different color it will be fine and look beautiful.

Well my sister had a costume party wedding around Halloween, she seemed happy. How ever it was kind of dark in the reception hall which made pictures there hard. So as for your questions remember the background that your taking your pictures in, and as far as the dresses what makes you happy is always good. But it also good to have happy friends their.

That is up to you. I have seen wedding parties where the bridesmaids had some white in their dresses. My personal opinion is that the bride should be the only one in white. The bride should be the one who steals the show, not blend in. Good Luck and Congrats!!

if you are wearing ivory your dress will look dirty in pictures next to a bright white. my friend wore ivory for her wedding and the groomsmen had bright white on. her dress looked dirty.

if you are wearing white then it shouldn't be a problem. use happy colorful flowers for everyone. for my wedding my bouquet was pink daises, while the bridesmaids have some yellow and orange daisies and roses. it was a celebration so fun colors were what it was all about.

I think the white dresses will be really cool. The guys will be in Black tuxes, right? Just do flowers in a dark color for the girls to so they really 'pop'. Make sure and hire a professional photographer and you should be fine for pictures.

Good Luck & Congrats!
