being married for 25 years, having 2 kids, 7 cats, and 2 dogs...I can't even remember what it was like to actually go to the bathroom by myself, even when I close the door, the cats come right in or someone is always knocking or talking to me through the door *LOL*

Definetely. If you don't then one of two things could happen. 1) Someone might actually be or get home without you hearing it and boom you're busted or 2) You might get used to doing that and forget to close the door when someone is home. Basically isn't good to ever develop any form of a bad habit, epspecially when it comes to etiquette.

Yes its sensible to always close the door it keeps the smell from drifting right through the house.

Nope, I live alone and no one else has my house key so I don't have to worry about people coming home, my restroom's pretty small so I don't have much room when I don't leave the door open, and my cats like it when they can come in!

Why in the heck would you close door? My partner and I have a rule, the door gets closed during #2. I don't want to share that with her. But just to pee or take a shower, why bother closing it? We've seen the business end of that deal before, there's nothing to be ashamed of!

It always depends who will be in the area after you and how soon. No one cares what you do in private, but sharing the bomb you just dropped in the bathroom with guests might be considered a little tacky.

Yes. A family member or a friend with a spare key could drop by any time. Plus it should be a habit.

Nope. I leave it wide open. Unless I'm taking a dump, then I'll close I'll close it most of the way, so the smell doesn't drift out.
