It totally depends on the ER vet. It won't be cheap though.Several hundred dollars I expect.

You should ring and ask your vet...Is he/she keeping the poor dog in there for money reasons or specialist vetinary care with compassion for the animal....vets all charge differently and in emergency extreme cases they will keep an animal out of compassion with very little charge....Your dog needs to be monitored until the fits are totally under control..that could take a while...(It is in your best interest to check as the Insurance company will .. up..your premium if this costing is too high)...Also, ask the vet if it would be more compassionate to put your dog asleep if the fitting is going to be continual...my dog is epileptic but is totally under control with phenobarb tablets..one daily...cluster fits have occured only two times and she is now 12 years old)...hope some of this imfo helps you....best of luck for you and the dog................

Well Claire,
someof your spelling is wrong however his fits might be neuro and not be able to be controlled by medication for seizures, cost depending on IV's Medication around the check staff, blood test, my experience it very well could be $300.00 a day i hope not good luck hope your pooch finds some peace really soon

This could end up costing you a few thousand dollars. In a dog with status, they sometimes need to be totally knocked out and supported on a ventilator.

I will be honest and say I do not know, but it is WORTH every penny you spend as he is depending on you. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM of my heart for caring for him as you are doing.
