So I need ideas for decorations, food and what to wear! I am part of the 4 important girls in the party, like the brides maids in a wedding, but this is her birthday. We 4 need matching dresses. There's a place around here called "Party Max"..it's a store that has everything you need. Find somewhere like that, if you don't already have one by you. (And make sure there's plenty of Oreo cookies, even if they are a "joke" they're still good!)

A black and white party is classic and ageless. I think it is a wonderful idea. That being said, you might want to think about two of you wearing white and two of you wearing black of the same style dresses. White House and Black Market are a great place to look. You can find them on the web. You can get some really cool black and white checkerboard plates and cups at just about any party store. Don't forget the streamers and balloons. Also, silver is a perfectly acceptable color when decorating for a black and white party. Don't worry so much about your food following the color theme. So long as your plates and silverware do, you will be just perfect.

Parties are soooo much fun!

The invitation can have black and white balloons on it or you can use music notes. Make sure to say if you want people to dress in black and white.

Decorations - You can find so many things in black and white... balloons... candles... flowers- silk or real (buy cheap white carnations and spray paint half of them black them right before the party )... streamers...

For snacks b&w cookies, cupcakes - bowls of black and white jelly beans and the cake could be iced like a checkerboard. Or with music notes or balloons again - and vanilla and chocolate ice cream. For the real food - sticking to black and white will be hard. You can have stuff like blackened chicken, black beans, black olives, rice, pasta... but go with whatever will be popular regardless of color. Just use black and white plates, napkins etc.

For your drinks, use dark and light sodas - coke, pepsi, dr pepper, sprite etc.. You can have plain and chocolate milk too - but I am not a milk fan...

Entertainment - you could have someone doing silhouettes - like copying the outline of a person's face in black and white. Or set up an area with a camcorder where guests can sit and send a birthday greeting. Get a white sheet and either paint on it or use electical tape to decorate it for a background. You can even find one of those black and white movie clapboards - you know, the thing they Snap and yell "CUT".

There is a lot you can do with a black and white party. But the most important thing is to have fun!

My hair stylist is giving her daughter a black and white party next Saturday!!! They went with HER in Red and the guests in black and white. They are decorating in a sexy zebra decor. The stuff I have seen is amazing. You could do something on a cheap budget. Go to your local dollar store! They have tons of stuff. And Happy 13th girlie!!! Have lots of fun!

Black and white is ugly and depressing, sorry. If it is a birthday party, then pick out and theme and go with the colors of the theme. Can't you think of anything more creative than black and white, how uninteresting.
