So that's better than thinking we came from a drop of amino acid the earth spit up? and women were an ameba that broke of a larger ameba?

I happen to believe in evolution and in God, and honestly both explanations leave a lot to be desired. It is just a matter of faith.

And ironicly there are some similarities.

In both cases we are created from the earth.

In both cases we didn't just plop down out of the sky already human.

we were crafted or developed in to humans, time is irrelevant.

in the end we are what you see.

Not all Christians dismiss Evolution, that's a fallacy. But not all evolutionists dismiss God.

it is the extremists that say there has to be one answer, and only one answer.

And I am smart enough to know there is never one clear cut answer.

You should not use broad condemning claims against Christians, just as they should not make broad condemning claims about evolutionists.

Both sides need to get a grip and maybe discuss the similarities in their beliefs before they attack others for not agreeing with them.

Not all Christians dismiss evolution. Everything on earth evolved from dust or something similar. However we got here was still designed by God. Everything is to complex to have just happened. Even the human brain was designed to last millions of years. The body wasn't.
Even the Bible says,"a day in the eyes of God is like a 1,000 years." It doesn't say is, but like. So, why not a billion or more years. In the beginning there was no way to judge a 24 hour day. Because there was darkness on the face of the deep. No-one knows what God considers a day. Think about it.

Probably for the same reason that people who are atheists/agnostics refute their beliefs: faith.

I personally am a fervent believer in the theory of evolution. But the reason why it's called that is because it's a THEORY. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs. I personally don't believe that we came from Adam and Eve, I don't believe that God created the earth in 7 days (or, rather, 6) - but who am I to say that I have the right answer?

I think the point here is to just accept that everyone has a different view of the world and of themselves in it. Evolution and religion are two sides of the same coin: our existence and purpose on this planet. Clearly you can't believe both theories, so you go with what you were brought up to believe or what makes the most sense to you.

Personally, I can't get my head around any religion very much because it just doesn't make any sense to me. But even I have to admit that in the light of increasing global wars and natural disasters, some of their theories don't seem all too far-fetched.

Bottom line: beliefs are a personal matter and everyone's entitled to their own.

Most Christians do not totally dismiss evolution, just like most are aware that the Bible was written in a time where parables were told to explain truths because there was no scientific understanding at the time on what was happening. It's amazing, in the books written oh so many years ago, Nostradamus' predictions, etc... people search for truth, but dismiss the Bible out of hand. I think it's those pesky Commandments that make everyone so angry at the Bible because they give a moral code.

This is truly a mystery. We seem to be hardwired to accept the unbelievable for real in place of reality. Up to a point in time it kind of worked explaining the unexplainable. Ever since Galileo we have explained a lot of unexplainable things. So we can not in al honesty blame ignorance any more. Not in this age of space travel and exploration and everything that it entails.

Because there is no proof of evolution between species. There is evolution/mutations within a species, but we have yet to find any evidence of some species evolving to another species. They have done experiments on fruit flies trying to get them to change into another species by affecting their surroundings so that ideally they'd change withing a few thousand generations (fruit flies have a very short life span) and all they've found is changes to the basic fruit fly, but they all have remained fruit flies. If evolution were true, a fruit fly would have turned into a panther or something.

Haha, sex panther... made with real panther...

Genesis became probable the 1st medical theory ever created. people did no longer comprehend then how the international became created - they theory the international became flat! Genesis and Adam and Eve became their theory of ways the earth and the individuals got here to be and regardless of the very shown fact that i don't have self belief it via fact medical awareness has stronger, I do discover it alluring to correctly known how they theory back then. I additionally think of the bible talks of morals that have been socially proper then, yet no longer now, as morals and cultural subject concerns have replaced with time. i think of the unique sin became yet another tale to warn people of drawing close punishment in the event that they went against the grain of society. it truly is to no longer say we ought to consistently no longer all try our maximum suitable to be sturdy on the instant, yet now we are unfastened to kind our own morals and that i think of we are especially fortunate for that.

"Genesis is called that because it is the history of the genes."
^ This one's going to fstdt.com. (For the record, it's called Genesis because "genesis" means "beginning", and it's the first book of the Bible. It has nothing to do with genetics, which weren't introduced until the Austrian monk Gregor Mendel discovered them in 1857. DUH.)

You know, I often hear the simplistic "argument" from Creationists that ask "Where do you think we came from? Do you think all this happened by chance?" Yet, they believe that very principle... that one day way back when, their GOD decided to 'pop everything up'. Furthermore, it took this all-powerful deity 6 whole days, a time period that should seem like a millisecond to someone with those characteristics.

People baffle me.

Who says that Christians dismiss evolution? Christians just believe that there was intelligent thought behind the evolutionary process, as highly organized systems do not rise out of random chaos.

Now, will you be so kind as to go back and submit an answer to my question?
