So i go up and order a Junior Bacon Cheeseburger and a medium frosty. The lady takes my money, gives me my change, then walks off out into the lobby cleaning tables and the such. I stand there for like 5 minutes confused as to what was going on. She happens to step in back of the counter again and asks can she help me. Im like "Yeah you can get my food i just bought from you". She stands there for a minute, mumbles some stuff (i really couldnt tell what she said) then gets my food. She really had a look and attitude that i was in the wrong here.
Now i am confused. Was i suppose to go in back of the counter after she rung me up and make my own hamburger and frosty myself? Or was she suppose to do this for me?

Of course it was wasn't your fault, she was being out of order and that is not good customer service. You could have reported her but you didn't. Having said that maybe she was having an off day but that is no excuse

Some places are "we don't make it until you order it", or "have it your way", but apparently, "get it yourself" is the pitch this Wendy's has decided to go with.

She's angry that she's there - but that's her problem, not yours. Call the Wendys' and complain. I went to a drive-thru Starbucks a few months ago, and the girl at the window was SO unbelievably rude to me - apparently, the guy before me was a jerk, so I got the brunt of it - and her parting shot was "so are we done here, or can I get you something else?"

I could not believe what I was hearing. Now, this kind of attitude before I've had my first coffee made me want to leap out of my car and into her window for a quick lesson on manners, but a quick e-mail to the Starbucks corporate office scored me a few free drink coupons. And, as a bonus, I haven't seen the barrista's face at the window since. I was a waitress for years, and am proud to say that I was never rude to a customer, not once.

Your experience is at least worth a free Frosty. Ask for the manager :o)

You were not wrong. You were exactly right.

It's really a shame. The fast food industry in America has taken a major downturn in regards to good customer service in recent years. Many franchises choose not to hire quality people anymore, and instead hire anyone who walks in the door. The fast food industry's approach to customer service and care is appalling to say the least.

Recently, I spent 20 minutes in a Burger King drive thru for a cold, inaccurate order. When I complained, the manager of the store called me a liar. When I called Burger King corporate, they made a lame apology and sent me a gift card valued locally at $2.27. I sent it back, along with a very strongly worded letter. I sent copies of all of this to a local news agency.

You should have flipped out on the whole place. I used to manage a similar abomination as Wendy's, and let me tell you, everyone in there is underpaid and over-worked. They get treated like pure crap, which makes it hard for them to always be friendly. Still, a bad attitude will bleed onto you and can make you pissy for hours.

Yesterday, I lost it with a clerk that was snappish and rude. I felt a little bad, but not enough to regret it because before encountering her, I was in the best of moods....

Yeah, she was probably just having a bad day. Still, she shouldn't be treating the customers this way.

Depends on how many people they have working if it was actually HER job or not to pack up your food. Some places have a cashier and baggers. However, I worked at a fast-food place one time, and you did the register AND bagged customers food.
Sorry you were disappointed. Better luck next time. :)

This is odd. Was she the only one working? Why didn't want of the employees in the back hand you your food? Why did she catch an attitude when she had to know that she didn't give you your food? Don't go back to this Wendy's ever again.

You were definitely not wrong here... as soon as she took your money she should of gotten your food for you. She shouldn't have depended on other customers to get your food because she took your order. I would have asked for a manager because she obviously shouldn't be working in a people oriented environment.

You should have asked for the manager and pointed out that not only had she done this, but she then handled food after cleaning tables without washing her hands afterwards!

You were supposed to use your telekinetic super powers to get it yourself I guess....

Just kidding.... The fact that she forgot she waited on you is so sad....

She was probably frustrated at her coworkers cause she thought THEY'D get your order ready for you and she felt that SHE does everything around Wendy's....

I'm sure it had nothing to do with you... She hates her coworkers and where she works... You just happened to eat there for lunch.... Try the drive thru next time.. lol. Better luck next time.

I can imagine how you felt, the lady was absent minded or preoccupied ,in any case she made a mistake & she should not have made it worse by her attitude, the least she could have done was apologise ,maybe a smile would be too much to expect from her.
