I really want to learn to speak portuguese so I can live in Brazil someday. Is it really difficult to learn ? Would it be worth my while to live in Brazil for a while to chuck myself in the deepend and do the learning and living thing to get by or will a class in england get the same results?

Definitively, Portuguese is NOT an easy language, I think the worse part for an foreigner learning are the verbs- but they are a little easier than in Spanish ( well, for me, at least...).But I"m sure you won´t have many troubles here because there are lots of Brazilians every place ready to help you and most of them able to speak some English. Of course learning a language with native speakers is always better and funnier.
If you need one more Portuguese teacher wishing to improve her English always more, I'm here....

I've tried learning it from my Portuguese friend...and I found it somewhat easy to learn! But do note that Brazilian Portuguese is kinda different to Portugal Portuguese! I say, go to Brazil where you can be with the naturals! Good luck!

definetly go live in Brazil if you can. Just a note since you are in Europe; Brazilian portuguese and Portgual Portuguese are somewhat different. The hardest languages are English and Chinese(Mandarin and Cantonese), so I think portuguese would be easy since its similar to spanish, and spanish is easy.

Yes.. Brazil is paradise
Portuguese is not hard if you set to your mind to it. The hardest part would be some of the pronouciation .. some sounds do not exist in the english language.. but with some practice. you'll get it.

try byki.com .. its free to download. its a language learning program .. with audio.. pictures.. games.. its cool ..

I have a few more useful sites.. if you message/email me i'll send them to you.

good luck
