I'm 14 this year and I'm in my school choir. Ok so I'm currently in tenor but I can't reach even beyond an E which is pathetic for a tenor. And I can't join bass because I can't even go below a B.
So basically I have a pathetic voice range of about 1 octave and a few notes (excluding falsetto). Even worse, my voice range has caused me to be excluded in school competitions such as SYF or overseas trips.
Anyone has any advice on how to expand my vocal range without hurting my vocal chords?

There's not much you can do but wait. You're smack dab in the middle of puberty, and your voice is still changing. Just like the rest of your body, your larynx (voice box) is going through a big growth spurt. Once it's done growing it will have doubled in size, more or less. This could last well into high school, and it's something that you simply don't have control over.

The best thing you can do for now is keep working your falsetto. Practice doing sighs (a slide from the top of your range to the bottom) and sirens (slides up and down to the extremes of your range) with the goal of sliding smoothly from your developing chest voice into your falsetto and back. Being able to do this will help you access your high notes once your voice does start to settle in a few years. Trying to expand your range at this point could be detrimental to your future singing.

In all honesty, at this point it sounds like you are still an alto. Just give it a couple of years and everything will sort itself out.

Whatever you do, don't push! Your voice is in a delicate transitional state right now. Practice as you normally would, but don't try to reach notes that are not in your range. Your voice is changing, and when it does you'll have a broader range. Let nature run its course. Your vocal chords will thank you!

There is nothing much you can do since you are going through puberty. just sing normally and try to practise your high notes. start with a note that you feel comforable with but remember dun use your throat. try to reach high like you are doing warm ups.
Don't push yourself too much. Good luck!

It's normal for a guy your age. Boy teens go through a period when voices goes through changes. You can still practice, practice, practice, practice.
