In answer, read for yourself what the apostle Paul said at 1 Corinthians 6:9, 10 (which is in the NT): “What! Do you not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes [“male prostitutes,” New International Version; “effeminate,” King James Version], nor men who lie with men [“sodomites,” Jerusalem Bible; “homosexual perverts,” Today’s English Version], nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom.” Note that Paul specifically mentioned those who evidently take on a passive sexual role and those who assume a more active “male” role in their immoral relations. Thus he made it plain that God disapproves of all homosexual acts.
This is also evident from Paul’s words at Romans 1:18-27 (book in the NT): “God’s wrath is being revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who are suppressing the truth in an unrighteous way . . . God, in keeping with the desires of their hearts, gave them up to uncleanness, that their bodies might be dishonored among them . . . That is why God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites, for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene.” Here Paul specifically condemned both male and female homosexuality. He condemned homosexual practices as unnatural and “obscene.”
The well-known Biblical account of Sodom and Gomorrah reveals God’s feelings about homosexuality. God declared: “The cry of complaint about Sodom and Gomorrah, yes, it is loud, and their sin, yes, it is very heavy.” (Genesis 18:20) The extent of their sinful depravity at that time was apparent when two guests visited the righteous man Lot. “The men of Sodom . . . surrounded the house, from boy to old man, all the people in one mob. And they kept calling out to Lot and saying to him: ‘Where are the men who came in to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have intercourse with them.’” (Genesis 19:4, 5) The Bible says: “The men of Sodom were bad and were gross sinners against Jehovah.”—Genesis 13:13.
"And when a man lies down with a male the same as one lies down with a woman, both of them have done a detestable thing. They should be put to death without fail. Their own blood is upon them." - Leviticus 20:13

Yes, the New Testament does denounce homosexual conduct. Read Romans 1:26, 27, 32 and 1 Corinthians 6:9, 10, 13, 18, 19, 20. Incidentally, Jesus never nullified the law---he fulfilled the law. Violate the law and you put yourself under the law. Respect the law and the law has no power over you. This is clearly taught by Paul is was a Pharisee, thus an expert on the law.

Dear friend,
Know that we (Christians) are not all a bunch of "Phelps". We would admonish you that homosexuality is wrong according to the old and new testaments. In the New Testament try Hebrews 13:4 (honor marriage), 1 Cor 6:18 (don't fornicate) and Romans 1:26-27 (don't commit homosexual acts). I read several of the answers given to you and this, hopefully, will strengthen the ones that are more biblical. Christians are against ALL sin which is to do other than the will of God. Look at Jesus who was chided for being around sinners during his ministry. Jesus spoke with the greatest condemnation about those who were supposed to be believers in God.
Know that Jesus loves you no matter what! If Charles Manson truly repented of his misdeeds and called upon Jesus for salvation, he would be saved! We are all sinners and unworthy in the eyes of God.
I will not slight you for being gay any more than I slight myself for the multitude of sins I commit every day but know this; we are going to judged by Jesus who has left us his commands! Get right with Jesus and NOT your fellow man. Pray each and every day!
I could keep writing to you forever about this. Remember:
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life."

First you are wrong if you think that Jesus did away with the Old Testament. He said in Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. 18 "For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. "
Second there are a number of passages in the New Testament that totally denounce homosexuality, not only using the word, but actually describing it. Romans 1:26 "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error."
Also see:1 Cor 6:9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
1 Timothy 1:10 and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching,

In the New Testament, Paul condemns homosexual prostitution as a form of religious worship (as was practiced right outside the door of his Church in Antioch). Other than that, he does not condemn homosexuality. It is a strange omission, considering the fact that the Greeks considered sexual orientation to be more or less evenly distributed between male/hetero, female/hetero, and male/female homo. With the pervasive homosexuality of the Hellenistic world, and the primarliy Gentile congregations of Paul's Churches, it seems strange that he would devote entire chapters to head covering, table manners, and bi-lingual sermons, but never even bother to mention the rampant homosexuality that impacted every corner of the Roman world.

A lot of people are looking for a verse that says, "Thou shalt not be gay," in the New Testament, and it's not there. Romans chapter one is the main text used to argue against homosexuality, and you should read it if you haven't. Depending on your bias, if you have any, you can interpret it different ways. In Matthew chapter 19, Jesus says, "Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female," and goes on to defend the initial union as the model for marriage. You will find no justification or endorsement of relationships that vary from this original model. The alternative to monogamous, heterosexual marriage is celibacy, as far as I can see. 1st Corinthians 7:8,9 says, "Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am. But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion." The bottom line is that we are created to glorify God. We are not here to "demand equal rights," or to experience as much diversity in pleasure as we can find. Although I will stop short of stating dogmatically that God will send every gay person to hell who has not renounced homosexuality, I will say again that I can find no place in scripture for a safe, sound argument for anything other than the Edenic model.

My first thought is do you even know the meaning of the word "homophobic"? A phobia is fear. I know of no Christian that has a fear of homosexuals. I do however know of many that do not agree with that lifestyle choice.
That being said, Jesus came to fulfill the law, not nullify.
Mat 5:17 "Do not suppose that I came to tear down [fig., abolish] the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to tear down _but_ to fulfill. (Analytical-Literal Translation)
"As far as you can tell" you write. Might I suggest that you simply look at the scripture. It will 'tell' you. Such would aid you to better grasp what is within them and would help you to better understand.

maximum appropriate shall we cope with the incorrect information and downright dissimulation with reference to the words "malakoi" and "arsenokoitai". enable's see what the interior of sight audio device of Koine Greek defined malakoi as:Dio Chrysostom, advert 40-one hundred twenty, some whose head has been made soft by utilising too a lot discovering. Epictetus, advert 55-one hundred thirty five, a soft headed individual. and that i think that's positioned into the mouth of Jesus interior the gospels to intend soft clothing. So now i think there could desire to be some way that softness could desire to be appropriate to effeminacy and that in the time of turn could desire to be appropriate to homosexuality, yet this is provided that we seem at homosexuality interior the way we come across it right this moment. i'm afraid that decrease back then homosexuals weren't seen as effeminate, yet by way of fact the epitome of masculinity. that is by way of fact the Greek subculture nevertheless remembered and honored the memories of the Spartans, the Sacred Band of Thebes, Achilles and Patroculos, all shining examples of manliness and the remarkable warriors. So the soft factor would not make experience if it became used to show homosexuality decrease back then as they weren't seen as soft or effeminate. greater or much less an analogous factor is going for arsenokoitai the place in Constantinople it meant having intercourse without wanting concern, people who used contraceptives like crocodile dung plugs. people who flow around attempting to squeeze meanings out of the bible that are no longer there could desire to you would be wanting to place their rationalizations in a suitable historic context or somebody with slightly of historic expertise would be waiting to be sure maximum appropriate by using them

This is a site that will help answer all your questions and fight against "christian" bigots.
And to further explain Homophobia is used to describe those who fear what they do not understand or try to understand of Homosexuality. People with preconceived notions of what homosexuality is and how it is to feel homosexual, when they themselves don't live as one or never experienced life as a homosexual. Let me let you all know A) most and yes I say most of us, don't Choose to be this way. I prayed to God in tears when was younger to heal me of Gayness and yes I ignored it. And my answer was Silence. Nothing. NO feeling of Holy Spirit or anything else. And then later on in life I realized something very important God didn't answer my prayers because the prayers were all wrong. I needed no changing. God, MY and OUr Creator, created ALL Man in his Image. His perfect Image. He also Does not make Mistakes according to his word, he is righteous, merciful and Just. He will read my heart along with other homosexuals hearts and judge us accordingly. And I will like to say I am very much IN LOVE with my now fiance. Not in LUST, IN LOVE. And If I'm not mistaken according to 1st John God is Love and to know God is to know Love! Well I have gotten to know love and I thank God for allowing me happiness with a Man. A man I very Much feel was divinely sent my way.

Well, its specified in Lazarus which I believe is in the new testament, but my Christian friend (who is not homophobic) says that Jesus said that marriage is for procuring childeren, but this would not exclude adoption, but Jesus never actually disses the act of gayness, he does however diss eating seafood but you don't see many Christians portesting against that.
