If you go to a green grocers or a market then no. They may be on face value but you can make a lot more with the vegetables than with processed meal. For example a curry from the store may cost 99p but if you make a veggie curry you can buy the products and make 2 or 3 curries for the same price as one processed one. I spend about 10 pounds if i was going to get my veggies from a supermarket and more like 4 from a green grocers

In developed countries, yes. In underdeveloped countries, a packet of chips is more expensive than about 1/4 kg of fruits. Man, there's always a catch somewhere, huh?

Hi, I'm a Japanese and I live in Japan.
I think it's true.
When I see around the snack area, I always find that some special snacks are very expensive. They have extra vitamins and other nutrition.
For example, please look at this site.
These chocolates contain high percentage of coco.
We Japanese think coco is very good for our health, so the higher the percentage, the more expensive.
I've never eaten 99%, but it would be bitter for me. I like 72 %.

No i dont think it is....i spend about £20 a week on just fruit and veg for me and my kids, and thats nothing compared to what i used to spend on crisps, chocolate, biscuits, ready meals etc....
Ithink people who say that its more expensive are also buying the unhealthy stuff as well as the healthy stuff.

No vegetables are among the cheapest foods you can buy, but if you buy them at your local shop it will be more expensive so buy them from a major supermarket, or busy grocers as this will ensure a fast turnover of the produce so it will be fresher and also because they sell so much it is sold cheaper!

Yes. Although most healthy foods are unadulterated, because of supply and demand, less are bought. Therefore the price has to be higher to compensate it

It is absolutely true.
You can buy high fat low nutrition Mac & Cheese for 99 cents. But fresh asparagus will set you back 2.99 a pound.

well, yes and no. It depends on the store that you buy them at. If you have a Trader Joe's in your area then the answer is no. Otherwise the answer is generally yes.
