It is derived, in part, from the Babylonian Adapu, the Sumerian Enki, and the all-pervasive solar mythos of the ancient Mysteries.
Contrary to popular opinion, the Genesis 6-day creation seems to be original, and is NOT derived from the Enuma Elish (as some folks still believe).
Book "J" (Genesis Chapter 1) was created before the Babylonian Exile, and represents the more original form of the Jewish creation account. Book "E" (Genesis Chapter 2) was created during the Babylonian Exile, and reflects sources found among the Babylonian archives.

The Hebrew Abraham at 427 years after the flood is age 75 and his wife is age 65,
they go down into Egypt to visit the Egyptians during a famine, Gen.12:4,10; 13:2; in
Canaan they live among the canaanites, and in Gen.14:1-16; they know many nations that live like land pirates. Abraham resided also in the land of the Philistines Gen.21:34;
So Abraham was exposed to several ancient origins.

Most of genesis is borrowed from more ancient myths of creation from Persian, Babylonian, Hittite, Egyptian and Greek mythology to name but a few. There is very little that is original in it. Names have been changed or adapted to fit the local needs
