This life and this world is fantastic! Why belittle its significance in hopes of some highly unrealistic future utopia in the sky? And even if there is an afterlife, how do you know what it's like? Perhaps it's like the Sumerians believed, sitting for eternity in a hole in the ground eating clay and dirt.
And please don't answer that you have faith, because that's not a reason, it's a preference.

How can you say, it's fantastic? Have you opened your eyes lately?
If, killing, robbing, molesting, cheating, stealing identities, high taxes, high insurance pmts., not enough health care, too many homeless, should I go on? I can add much more. It this is a fantastic world, I don't want it.
THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING BETTER SOMEWHERE
and yes, I also have my faith, THANK GOD, FOR, IN GOD I TRUST

Honestly, because I've been told of a better place. You say this world is fantastic. I agree that creation is great. However, I think a place that is free of sickness, death, fighting and conflict would be much better.
In addition to the above, being in the presence of my Creator and finally understanding things will be the best. This world is just a shadow of what is to come.

I agree that this world is a fascinating and wonderful place and life is just great, and was given to us by God to enjoy. But this world is full of sin and evil and violence, and it is getting worse if you noticed. We also live with death as our final outcome, and sickness and pain along the way.God provides a better place for us where there is no evil and only a fool would refuse it if he truly knew all the the facts.

Because, we/they need something to look forward to as THIS life is so awful, the world is so terrible, the politicians, the corporate companies, the globalisation of the planet of big branded products,global warming, the destruction of the planet, destroying of trees, destruction of animals, cars, oil, George Bush, Tony Blair, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, WAL-MART, diseases, poverty, fascists, conservatives, republicans, communists, liberals, laws, judges, lawyers, terrorists, fanatics, religious zealots, obesity and the food industry, the taxes, the low wages, the priority of greed, warmongers, dictators, the media THE LIST IS ENDLESS - HAVE MADE IT UNBEARABLE TO ENJOY THIS EARTH and this LIFE!!

because people are afraid to die. The frail human ego can't contemplate a time where it won't be around, because that would mean (gasp) that we are not the frigging center of the universe.
