Go to the link below and download, SpywareBlaster
Spyware, adware, browser hijackers, and dialers are some of the fastest-growing threats on the Internet today. By simply browsing to a web page, you could find your computer to be the brand-new host of one of these unwanted fiends!
The most important step you can take is to secure your system. And SpywareBlaster is the most powerful protection program available.
Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted software.
Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
Restrict the actions of potentially unwanted sites in Internet Explorer.
SpywareBlaster can help keep your system spyware-free and secure, without interfering with the "good side" of the web. And unlike other programs, SpywareBlaster does not have to remain running in the background.
Also CCleaner and Windows Defender 1.1.1593 all from the same site.

Eh? Turned off?
Oh but anyway, you're supposed to turn on the pop-up blocker which I suppose it exists in IE 6 & 7, and other pop-up blockers if you have.
If it does not work, it's possible that those pop-ups are caused by spywares and adwares and malwares etc. So you've got to use something like Windows Defender and Ad-Aware etc to clear them up, or at least check if there is any.
I also recommend that you should use CCleaner to clear unnecessary rubbish in your computer.
Those softwares that I have mentioned can be searched easily through search engines, all you need is it and your common sense. =D

First of all...if you have got a BT yahoo pop up blocker in tools....click on it and make sure there is a tick against[enable popup blocker] McAfee ant-virus....If you got it with a PC mag[free] it could be out of date or in-affective in which case..delete it from your PC and try a more popular one.

Sounds like you might have got some adware or spyware on your computer, rather than a virus. There are a number of anti-adware and anti-spyware programmes you could use, but I would recommend Lavasoft Adaware - its free and very good for fixing this kind of problem. You can get it here: http://www.lavasoft.com/
Hope this helps

Didn't think AV software did popup blocking... but your may do. If it is meant to do popup blocking, you may need to adjust the size of what it considers a 'popup'. The ones I've used expect popups to be small windows rather than nearly full screen.
