The bed bug epidemic in urban cities seems to be getting worse. Is there nothing we can do to prevent this from getting out of hand?Should our politicians do more? or should the burden just be on us?

Well the real problem lies in the fact that as humans we love to travel, especially to Europe where the bed bug problem is still quite a problem. When we leave our clothes on the floor of motels and hotels in European countries, these little ectoparasites will cling on and hitch a ride back to North America. The bed bugs were actually eradicated in North America for the longest time, but now since travelling to countries where they are common is so common placed, re-infection was inevitable. Proper clothing and luggage checks should be done by everyone in endemic regions, this would certainly lower the rate of re-introduction. As unfortunate as it sounds, the politicians would do nothing about this problem, first of all, with the ban on most pesticides, the complete control or eradication of this pest would be very difficult, and secondly, the money they would have to put out would be so much, and would not be worth the problem....Now if people were dying from these insects then there would certainly be a call to arms about the situation and they might step in, but until deaths are common placed, it is our problem.

Well friend i can only say that whatever the politics now we have is like samething what you have said like Bed Bug. It is not sure that we are out of hands presently.
And our politicians are least bothered about about such things.
Ofcourse i don't say that all the politicians are like that but some are really worthless.
Anyway we can eliminate such kind of bedbugs by seleting and following the right steps at right time and then we can assure that we are out of these bedbugs.
