There are no details for this number online, as Oftel records show that numbers starting 08450 45 are allocated "operator unknown". This means that it could be anyone.

In my experience, any number that phones me that begins 0845 is a cold sales call.

0845 numbers are charged at local rate, depending on what your local rate is the cost will vary.

To stop cold calls, you can join The Telephone Preference Service at: http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/

I checked with http://www.saynoto0870.com to see if they had a listing, but nothing was listed.

The call is charged at a non-geographical 'local' rate, which means that it is more expensive than normal local rate calls.

I would guess cold sales call, from a call centre. I get alot.

You can subscribe to the telephone preference service to stop unwanted cold sales calls:

http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/ It's free and you can add your landline as well as mobile phone no's to stop the pests.

If you get any calls just say that you're registered with TPS and they must end the call and remove you from their lists, preventing further calls. Perhaps register then give them a call to let them know.

This covers a bit more than just finding out who they are. But will stop future intrustions and nuisance. And tons of silent calls where they just hang up. Should be illegal.

Good luck! Rob

I do not believe that, that is an actual number. Long distance Country codes are 011 and can have any combination of 2#'s after. But, on cell phones you are able to program any number you want. So it is either a solicitation or someone who has this programmed into their cell. You could call your phone company, and they will be able to tell you for sure. Good luck:)

You can't. If he is giving you nuisance calls, tell your phone company and/or police, and they will sort it out. There is no way of you getting info on ex directory numbers. Would you like if your ex directory status was compromised? Miss Berry - not only assault, but a severely abusive or threatening call causing mental anguish can also be tried as GBH.

That call is made from a rural place near Bangalore District. Please refer STD code book. You will mark that from first one or two digits you can judge state, district etc. Rural places have longer STD code number. Now question remains about five to eigit Digit phone number, from where call is originated. If it is starting from '2' its Bsnl exchange, starting from 3 Reliance landline, 4 is Airtel land line, 5 & 6 are Tata landlines etc.

One additional matter to remamber that in old days we were getting wrong numbers even we dialled correct but now after installation of electronic exchanges at most of places, it does not happen so. But even today chances of wrong presentation in Caller ID are about one percent. So a small mistake in caller Id presentation also harass us in making correct interpretations.

Dial the number back but withhold your own number and I think it's 141 before the number not 151.Don't keep ringing,it's costing you money.

I took a look on saynoto0870.com, but their not listed.

Have you tried ringing them back?

If it's become a problem try the ofcom link below or register your number with TPS. If any sales companies continue to call you, you can report them and they get a big fat fine.
