my car was totaled but it's still drivable. I'm wondering if it's against the law to drive it. this is in new york state

If it is still registered for the road AND will pass state inspection if you are pulled over - then you may drive it. Totalled means you can no longer claim against a loss, it has no value and has been paided off.

no, it's legal. totalling is for insurance purposes only. has nothing to do with DMV.

does your title list it as salvage vehicle if not its ok to fix and drive
