Somewhere other than our native countries. We are having real difficulty arranging this, because of problems with paperwork. We wanted to get married in Greece or Malta but were told to give up on the idea by the tour operators as my boyfriend comes from South Korea, and the paperwork would be too complicated. Can anyone give me advice or suitable alternatives?

Go to Scotland! Gretna Registration Office are very set up for marrying people from different countries. I'm English and so is my husband, we were told it would take 3 months to get married in Germany where we live. We looked into marrying in England but you have to have lived where ever you wed for 1 week (at least!) before the wedding. We went to Grenta and we only had to do 1 piece of paperwork each and turn up on the day! I think your boyf will need to get a paper from the Government of his country saying that he hasn't already been married there and then the two of you are good to go a Gretna!

Good luck to both of you!

Seriously, I would recommend getting married in Korea in the traditional way. My wife is South Korean, and I told her that it would be really great to have a unique marriage...and thus I suggested the Traditional Korean way. My God, it is such a beautiful ceremony...and actually it is pretty rare nowadays for even Koreans to Marry this way. And, in Korea, the guests bring money and gold as a gift instead of other things, so it can help you and your Fiance get a boost in financial standing. It really was a very special Wedding and I have no regrets doing it this way. Costumes are beautiful, and the traditions were very very interesting. And it isn't a very long and boring ceremony...and so we got married the traditional way in the morning, had lunch with our guests, and then went to the church to wed as well. Amazing day!! Seriously, I would ask you to consider it...and who knows, you might even be on TV. Arirang Tv, a channel that informs foreigners about Korean Culture, asked us if they could use our ceremony in a documentary...unfortunately, my wife turned it down cuz she was too shy to be on TV). Best wishes to you guys. Congrats!!

Go to Vegas! It's not as tacky as it sounds…you can have a beautiful elopement ceremony at a five-star hotel, like Paris, Bellagio (where they have gondola ceremonies!), Venetian, etc.

There are wedding packages to fit your budget, and they're usually all-inclusive, with limo to the courthouse, suite, meals, tickets to a show, and little luxuries like his/her messages, champagne and chocolates.

People from all over get married in Vegas. It's something that I'm considering as well!

Jersey. It is a part of the UK but is self-governed. therefore no paperwork hassle nor is it part of your native land.
