Christians and muslims are dumb because they base their belief on faith, which means, do not question , just follow what is written in the book . The church and mullahs has to say that because otherwise, the Bible or the koran becomes a crock, with many inconsistencies and many things that simply do not make sense.

So they stay dumb and traditional for another couple of years

Actually,I think when Islam says you have to be a muslim, It means you have to follow the philosophy taught by Islam and not simply adopting the religion and putting the tag of being a muslim. So it actually means you have to adopt the philosophy....if not, you go to hell. Same with Christianity and other religion. And the philosophy of all religions is the same.
So it means that if you do not adopt that philosophy...you go to hell.
Now it makes sense, isn't it ?

It's bizarre because when you read the Scriptures, the Bible, the Torah, or the Koran they all tell similar stories from a similar sounding group of prophets with a few fundamental differences in each. For example, Christians believe Jesus was the Son of God. Muslims and Jews don't - but they do believe he was a prophet.

These books were only written down after centuries of them being passed down as word of mouth stories. Hence the variety of interpretations and differing religious views. For one religious viewpoint to shout that all other religions will burn in hell is pretty hypocritical.

These people do seem to be worshipping the same God - whether we call that entity Allah, God, Yaweh or otherwise. I am from a Christian background and was brought up and told by one of my Church leaders that God is the same no matter which language we use or what we call Him/Her/It.

For any human being to believe we can define the power that creates and completes all life by badging Him/Her/It and demanding everyone else pay homage to that entity or power in the same way as they do or burn is very naive and very self-important in my view.

I believe your religious badge is not as important as the way you live your life and the gratitude you show for the life you have been given and the world around you.

readkoran I am sorry but you are referring to Catholicism which is only one denomination of Christianity. Catholics remember Jesus on the cross repenting for sin. Other denominations do not play so heavily on the repenting of sin - more so on not committing sin in the first place.

A lot of modern day Christianity focuses very much on tolerance, acceptance, and integration of different cultures. It's a shame that not all religious leaders can adopt the same view. It's about time people woke up and realised that the power that created all life - whether we choose to call Him/Her/It Yaweh, Allah, God, or otherwise - runs far deeper than any labels we can think of or indeed any outfits or shackles we feel we should be forced to or shouldn't be allowed to wear in respect of that.

The God that created the earth and all the life that is in it certainly wouldn't want His creatures to go around wantonly destroying each other and the earth simply to make the point that their names for Him and practices of worship are the right and better way over the practices of other people. He/She/It would want us all to live in peace and tolerate and accept all other creatures on the planet - for better and worse.

It's time we stopped these arguments about whose way is better and got on with making the world a better place for everybody.

Not true. Good Christians and Jews deserves Heaven too, it is said in the Qu'ran.

Qu'ran 2:62:

Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in God and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve.

many people who belong to a different religion would say that you are an unbeliever or they need to rescue souls from those who have not embraced the faith. i understand why the muslim would say that you are an infidel or an unbeliever.

this is what i believe in ---- what is important is the condition of your heart whether you are a protestant, roman catholic, baptist or any religion..it is really true that what you sow, you will reap..

Don't listen to any of this superstitious garbage.

Religions are just for simple, uneducated people.

Try reading Richard Dawkins' excellent book The God Delusion. It will show you the light.

Science is the truth not religion which was invented by man back in primitive times in order to explain what he couldn't.
