She has to wear an ancient Greek costume. Anyone any (sensible please) ideas? I can't sew.

That's easy you don't need to be a good sewer for this one. all you need is an old plain coloured or white bed sheet and a rope tie back from a curtain, cut the sheet according to how tall your daughter is, fold it in half cut out a hole for her head and simply tie the rope around her waist, put this over normal clothes. That's it all done. Hope this helps. click on the link below for an idea.

It won't be authentic, but you could get an extra large pillow case and cut out a hole for her head. then tie a rope around her waist. put sandals on her feet and voila.

a pillow case cut some arms out and tie rope round it to make a toga.and brown sandals .hope this helps
