It's completely up to the happy couple, you don't have to have either, just witnesses should be enough. But if they should decide on best man / maid of honour, it's really a call for the groom and groom or bride and bride.

It is entirely up to the couple concerned what they do. Legally they require two witnesses (as in any marriage) but these can be whoever they choose - it does not need to be a 'best man' and a 'maid of honor'.

No different from any other ceremony of committment (it is not technically marriage) as all you required are two witnesses, they can be one of either sex of two of the same sex. Depending of country you have to be a certain age, think the average is about 16 to be a witness.

the one who asked to be married is the one with the best man. And the other man would have the maid of honour.

i live in MA where it is legal. if it is 2 brides then they both usually have their own bridesmaids, or attendants(some have male friends). for 2 grooms they have groomsman(some have female friends so again attendants).

a lot of the gay couples i have known have just had really small ceremonies at the beach with no set bridesmaids, so really i think anything goes.

Never thought about this, but it could be cool if either:

Each of you had a couple of bridesmaids and a couple of groomsmen, and they lined up alternately beside each of you

or

If two men, each has their own groomsmen. If two women, each have their own bridesmaids

What ever way you want. In a gay marriage i doubt they'd want to be that traditional anyway.
