I think its all down to testosterone!
As testosterone affects the entire body (often by enlarging; men have bigger hearts, lungs, liver, etc.) the brain is also affected by this "sexual" advancement; the enzyme aromatase converts testosterone into estrogen that is responsible for masculinization of the brain in a male fetus.
Factors that in any way reduce aromatase can result in an individual with male gender, male body but with a "female" brain.
There are some differences in a male and female brain (the result of testosterone); a clear difference is the size, the male human brain is on average larger, however in females (that do not use testosterone as much) the corpus callosum is proportionally larger.
This means that the effect of testosterone is a greater overall brain volume, but a decreased connection between the hemispheres.
Recent research has suggested that alcohol consumption in women can temporarily raise testosterone levels.
A 2006 BBC article states: "According to medical research, testosterone - the hormone connected to male characteristics such as aggression and sex drive - rises in women by up to 50% when they get drunk. In men, it falls"

Generally that is a misconception, actually, females have the higher drive and perform better with infinitely more stamina.
Males might think about it more...but females do it more, especially as they get older (as the male libido starts to gradually decrease from the age of 21 to middle age, at the same time women's needs intensify).
Sorry to enlighten you, a lot of men are blissful in their ignorance.
I also saw the results of a poll in Italy which confirmed that more married women than men have extra-marital affairs.
The future doesn't look so rosy now does it?

Not always true we just don't grind on about it and use it as an excuse to behave like animals. I have to have a rabbit and my new man and I have matching sex drvies - 5 times a night kind of thing.

I don't think they do, they just pretend they do, I for one have a much lower sex drive than my Wife. When I question my hot lover mates it actually turns out that only about 10% of what they say actually happens the rest is just fantasy. Its about time men spoke more honestly about sex and sexuality instead of the machoistic bravado we usually get

Because women naturally (basic instincts) only procreate to produce the children she can carry and nurture. Men on the other hand want to re-populate the world!! They do have a lot of sperm to share out

Your question is faulty.
True, in the younger ages, it is generally perceived that men peak, and have a greater drive than females.
However, the role flips a few years down the road - say 30 to 40ish.

I'm assuming it has something to do with women only being able to become pregnant every 9 months and men being able to impregnate all the women in the world if he wanted to.
