I personally think they should go together in some way. Otherwise it would be a source of constant comment. They are symbols of union after all. That said, I think it matters much more what the bride and groom think.

Nope. Just go with what you like.

My ring and my husband's are similar but the don't match. My sister's ring is yellow gold w/ diamonds and her husband's has a braided design in yellow, white and rose gold.

I've never had anyone mention anything to me about my ring matching or not matching my husbands. Most days I don't even wear my ring.

The most important thing, in my opinion, is that you each like the ring you're wearing. Afterall, you're going to be looking at it for a long time.

NO. My wife has a wedding set that was her grandmothers. My ring isn't even a close match. It's the meaning behind the rings that is important.

no. not one bit. none of my friends or relatives wedding rings match. the most important thing is that the bride and the groom both like their own rings, and you like each other's rings.. not that they match.

Its not essential. But importance? That depends on you. Do you want the pictures for the rest of your life together have similar rings to signify your sharing bond? Or would you like a kicka** ring that you chose without needing any boundaries to limit the choice you have?

Nope - My husband got gold, but my rings are silver. I thought the silver complemented the diamond so much better. It's totally up to you :)
