I have heard that some denominations believe that humans before the flood were so morally deprived that they were having sex with animals and having off spring.
This is why God destroyed the earth wih a flood.
I have also heard another theory that man was into genetic enineering. We all know that back then the human brain was far more developed and well capable of doing far greater things than we could dream of now.
Any thoughts on either comment?

Well the Bible does not speciffically say this but it does say that those doing these things should be put to death. but I think what you may be talking about is a different thing which was morally depraved also it was the angels that Satan coersed into rebelling against Godthey actually camedown to earth and saw that the women were good looking so they came and took wives for themselves just took any that they pleased wether or not these women were willing or not and they had offspring these were called the Nephelimbecause they were fathered by angels that materialised to a material body so that they were able to father children and have sex with human femalesthat is why God destryed them because the offspring were very morally deprived and were causing havoc on the earth you can read about it in (Genesis6:1 to 9)although the Bible does not specifically say about people having sex with Animals it does not mean that it did not happen, it is happening today also, so it would have most probable then as well.as for the other comment about genetic engineering I don't know but I o know that humans had more abilities to use the brain and werefar more developed in what they were able to achieve than people today would think, but as for genetic engineering I don't know anything about that.

I will start with a main comment to cover both questions: What a load of Garbage. I can not tell you for a fact if this is mentioned or not but what is a fact is that the good book encouraged all sorts of depravity on moral grounds. If that is the reason god flooded the world then he is on a very long sabbatical now. Back then there were no more than 60 million people all over the world and a few had sex with animals. Nowadays we are billions and a hell of a lot of people have sex with animals now than then. You think maybe we are in for another flood???? The Byzantines (Christians and fanatic too) had even specialized in sex with avians with a taste for Eagles and stuff.
As to genetic engineering in the past oddly enough in a sense yes but not in the way we understand it today (playing around with DNA) Humans have been involved in a kind of genetic engineering for thousands of years when they started cross breeding and selective breeding of both livestock and plants. However they most definitely did not have better brains than we do. As far as we can tell Cro Magnon man at about 200000 years ago had the same intelligence with us. THE SAME. He did not have the same knowledge that we have It took us all that time to get from there to here. And we might have done it sooner by a few centuries if not for the ignorant interference of the Christian religion, which turned blind faith into a virtue and knowledge into sin.

You're on the right track, kinda, but wrong species! Not with animals, but with fallen angels = demons which produced Nephilium. And yes, because of this human + demon intermixing, the people were morally depraved. Noah and his family were not affected, thus the only people who were saved from God's wrath. Hope this helps.

All I can say is this: You are an intelligent individual. You are into learning. Remember though, with intelligence the price paid is this: You age, you lose track you derail a bit. Um, I was forced to go to church as a child, and I remember looking up the rude parts of the bible for entertainment. haha.
Although I can't quote my sources, I do remember that the flood was brought about because the people were doing things they weren't intended to do, including, yes, lying with animals. I don't remember anything about it producing offspring though...

I think it just says all sorts of abominations. It doesn't go into graphic detail. I never heard of any half animal people.
