since everybody keeps telling me teenage pregnancy IS a sin, plz back it up--how old was Mary when she concieved Christ? How old were Lot's daughters when he impregnated them--or better yet, when he sent them out to be raped by the townspeople in the angels' places? What ARE the bible's laws on age of consent and statutory rape?

I believe the bible says that the age of consent between blood relatives is 12 with a special dispensation for unrelated pairs

Teenage pregnancy isn't really a bad thing. No one on this earth can talk about another persons doing because they sinned too.

The Bible was written by people which God inspired. Think about the place Lot's kids were at when that took place. Mary could have been stoned because of her saying she was pregnant for someone other than her husband at the time.

These things that you are talking about has been a negative since biblical times and people have been judging each pther since then whether they were right or wrong.

It would have been the custom for young women in the Middle East at that time to have got married soon after reaching puberty and having children not long after that. No-one knows but it would seem extremely likely that Mary had her first child at around the age of 12 or 13. It was common for young women (we would call them girls today) to marry much older men. It is still the custom in some countries for girls to be married at 12 or 13. If anything it would have been unusual for a woman not to be married by the age of about 14 - marriages were arranged by the parents so one's talent for impressing the opposite sex was irrelevant.

GIRLS should never have sex or be impregnated. The exact age of womanhood is determined by the woman. The stories from the Bible have been reinterpreted sooo many times that it is difficult to tell. The law in some states say 12 with parental approval. I say a girl doesn't think she has become a woman, but, knows when she is and that is that. Men or boys can't tell but are always willing. A woman KNOWS when she is a woman though, I'm sure.

To have sex before your married is a sin. Don't you realize that being a teenager means to discover yourself before your an adult? To give yourself a proper education to prepare yourself for college. To have fun without any burdens such as paying bills and the big responsiblity of having children. Having a child is no joke. You will see for yourself when your child comes. You will wish you had never spread your legs. From the day your child comes then your life will never be yours again. Just think, you only had 13 years.

I mean - like this is the bible - very rarely does it acknowledge women in a good manner. Women are vessels.

Like, people, listen to the quotes you have been given. Tell me how pure your religious thought is.

Listen to Conscience. If the bible is not to be taken literally when did this come about? I know of no place in the bible that claims to be inaccurate.

Kellt K -- are you suggesting the bible is wrong.

The bible doesn't give a specified age it just says that you have to be married. The bible also says that when you have sex with someone you are in a sense married. The bible is full of contradictions and shouldn't be taken literally anyway.

Maurine, you're talking rubbish.

Can you EVEN show us where the age of these women have been recorded? You cannot.

NOBODY knows how old was mary when she gave birth.

And Lot's daughters did a terrible sin that gave birth to the races that are today the ancestors of the arab muslims. Why do you bother how old they are, unless you support them? In anycase their behavior has been copied by the followers of islam today and their founder had sex with little infant girls.

What do you want to prove?
