For a country emerging from long years of oppression and colonialism, democracy and human rights were new concepts. Therefore, they needed to be nurtured. Now that we have had a decade of history of free and fair elections, and many institutions exist to protect the values these concepts represent, I can say with confidence, that the sapling we had planted ten years ago is slowly but surely growing into a strong and healthy tree, yielding fruits for all, today and in the future.
we can do it by the following things :~
1. Strengthening of democracy in all aspects,
2. Building a diversified, robust, and dynamic economy,
3. Establishing an economically prosperous and just society,
4. Reducing unemployment significantly,
5. Improving old age pensions,
6. Resolving the land question,
7. Providing quality services to all, including health, education, electricity, water, and housing,
8. Improving the nutritional status of citizens,
9. Proactively seeking innovative solutions to address the problem of HIV/AIDS infections,
10. Establishing a moral and ethical society where violence, drunkenness, crime, corruption, and nepotism are anathema

As far as corruption, all we can do is try our best to be more informed and pay more attention to what our leaders are doing. The first step in stopping corruption is to CATCH the corrupters.
Nepotism is a hard one because that is human nature. We all tend show favoritism even when we try not to. Once again, as far as our country's leaders and their nepotism like Cheney giving contracts to Haliburton, etc... all we can do is try to pay more attention to their actions and ASK QUESTIONS instead of just sitting on the sidelines trusting everything they do.

We can only fight it by more and more efficient controls.
And huge money penalties and if they refuse to pay, then they must just stay so long in jail, till the penalty is paid or till the time passed in jail corresponds to the money to be paid.
But I don't believe that those who profit the most from corruption will agree to such laws and controls. An example: the law punishes as well the one who corrupts as well the one who accepts or requires corruption. I think that the one who is forced to pay and who denounces the act of corruption must go free. In that case only the one who requires corruption has to be punished. So at least a certain percentage, probably of lower corruption, could be avoided.
By the way, I think it is not possible to reduce sensibly the evil, and in this case the corruption, in the world.

First we start at the top: Impeach Bush & his entire administration. Once that settles down, replace ALL Government employees HIRED by the Bush Administration ( Bush's family, friends, business partners, etc.) Next dispose of any and all lobiest's that exist in the world-the REAL war on terrorism!
We should then put time limit of either 4 or 6 years on ANY political position and lastly-make voting days a PAID holiday and voting mandatory! YES, that means you may need to get off the couch, put the beer down, get off the phone, turn off the TV and (AWW-Geeze!) participate in the process!

To have an honest, fair and uncorrupted community one must first be an honest, fair and uncorrupted person who has a family and circle of friends who are honest, fair and uncorrupted.
After that, remaining true to yourself and an upright model, the building of an honest, fair and uncorrupted country will follow.

Vote only for those who will truly serve the country and not those who will just enrich themselves while in power. Likewise, do not vote for candidates who employs and hires relatives when elected into a position.
