I have one of those water filters you fill then out in the fridge, and theres always black little pepples on the top part that sometimes goes into my water when you poor, is that safe and what are they?

Eensy Weensy grains of charcoal.
Under a microscope, you would see they are porous (full of holes). So REALLY small particles get stuck inside them.

When they get clogged up, it's time to throw away the filter.

If there's only a few of them in your water, you should be fine. Some people take charcoal tablets deliberately, to control flatulence.

I would have someone come in and look at your fridge, or take it back to the place you bought it. Because water should be clear when you pour it.

It is charcoal. Replace the cartridge it is probably broken.
