i'm not a woman, but it is true. The problem isnt the Bible, its that men abuse this and do not treat woman right. If a man is a Christian, and follows the word of God, then there should be no problem with these verses. Don't blame the Bible for people that pervert its teachings.

Yes, I agree. The man is the head of the household. It also says that a man has to treat his woman good. Not sure right where it is but I have seen the verse. It also means that women should not be a pastor in a church. I also agree with this. I also believe a woman should wear dresses as much as possible. I choose to dress like the Mennonites and wear a head veil like they do when I am worshiping. I just got saved this last year, so I am having some dresses made and my veils, so I can start wearing them and look very modest. Also, my husband is the head of household, but he is cool and doesn't demand and boss me at all. Also, for you men, this means that we as women stay home and take care of the house and you men go to work!

If you object to the bible telling wives to be submissive to their husbands, that's fine. You don't have to believe the bible if you don't want to. But don't make claims that are not true. "Justified sexual abuse"? In those verses, I don't think so. It also says, in most cases right next to the verses you posted, that husbands should love their wives as Christ loved the Church. The man has a responsibly In a marriage to be a good partner too.
Men have done terrible things to women, sometimes in the name of religion. They are to blame for their actions, not the bible verses which you mentioned, because such men were not following the bible.

First of all , Serena is going to cherry pick your argument in the first place, because she is a woman and trying to defend. I also feel that this is true , and it is not just in Chrisanity and in the Bible that this occurs. If you look at Greek mythology as well , women are inferior to men. Even in asian cultures you will never find a Woman Samurai, why is this? African tribes as well, who sees the women doing all the hard work except cleaning , and cooking the animals that the men had to fight using their lives. Even to this date the tradition of the man asking out the woman is true to this date , IN MAJORITY speaking why would this be as well?

What a one-sided argument!!
I noticed you made reference to Eph 5:22-24. Why did you leave out the very NEXT verse?
Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Under THAT condition, how can a husband sexually, physically or verbally abuse his wife? He is commanded to love his wife so much that he most be willing and ready to sacrifice his life for her, if needs be. Which woman would not like to have such a love from her husband?
Of course, there are many "Christian" men who do not follow the principles of their religion, as is common in many other religions. But then some do follow those principles!!!

Dear Friend,
You are seriously in error!
You have misinterpreted the Scriptures:
Read 1 Corinthians 13, this describes the kind of love that Christian men have for their wives.
1 Corinthians 13:1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails.
This is part of the one True Gods model for marriage, there is much more the bible could teach about marriage, why not read the lessons in Context, a local Methodist Church should be able to help you
God Bless

If a person has power within the church, than it is not a church following the example of Christ. You become a servant, not a leader.
In the JWs, both men and women are legal ministers.

Yes, men have historically used such phrases to justify abusing women. Nowadays, though, Christian and post-Christian countries recognize such arguments as the horse puckey they are.
This is, of course, as opposed to the Muslim countries, where women are treated so very well.
Edit: Hmm. I see you asked this before, and were totally ignored. I guess persistence pays off after all.

i think of which you will possibly be able to desire to work out that the word translated into English "lady" is incredibly the Greek word for 'spouse'. in case you will look on the scriptures which you quote, you will see that they are addressing circumstances as they pertain to husband and spouse. in simple terms observing them is going that should assist you to comprehend that (a million Tim. 2:15 - to "proceed to be in faith and love and sanctification, with decency" (Analytical-Literal Translation) on a similar time as in childbirth - a married lady to confirm).
