yes, your body is telling you something. Your probably mentally as well as physically tired. Start your homework earlier and get the sleep you need. Your body will thank you.

Yes it is normal, althought the first time you try it you might wake up to the alarm of the clock, the next time you'll adapt to it. Sometimes, or maybe most of the time, people wake up subconsciously and turn off the alarm clock, others wake up and turn it off ( or destroy it), fall back to sleep and wake up not remembering anything. Your body will often do what it takes to get you that full 8 to 10 hour sleep.

that is the most normal thing that happens to people. lol. naturally your body needs sleep and during your sleep, you have deep sleep or a less deeper sleep, if you are deep in sleep, you most probably wont hear the alarm and commence with the sleep.
that was my daughter who wrote the first paragraph, i have the same exact problem with my 2 daughters is set the alarm they don't hear it , i put the alarm little bit far from them it takes longer time sometimes they switch it off I even tried to put it each day in different place far from the bed because its very loud but still ...i have to wake up to wake them up...if not they skip school to sleep....
so now i wake them and shake them and pull their legs to be sure they don't go asleep again .:-) what to do cest la vie

if you are really tired then you could sleep through an alarm clock or a phone ring.
Is it normal? For a heavy sleeper, yes. It depends. If you are the type of sleeper that is hard to wakeup and you can sleep through anything then, yes, it is normal.

For me normal. but if you were accustomed to 6hrs a day sleep then you will hear the alarm. it also depends on how alert your senses are.
