i bought some from the store the other day and they tasted kinda nasty. they were'nt crisp and the peels left a funny taste in my mouth.

Does anyone know when they will be "fresh" again??

Depends entirely on your location. If you're closer to South America, where they can grow apples year-round, then the apples wouldn't be soft and mushy. The apples, green apples, that you're talking about have been commercially-frozen, meaning that they have been put in cool storage to perserve their freshness, causing them to bruise easily and be less crisp.

Like you, I can't stand when something is sold to me that tastes substandard... I can't wait until watermelon is in season! I guess it's worth it to wait for a good watermelon than have one that is bruised, mushy on the inside and has a scant taste of rot.

Happy eatings,
