For women to have abortions because a baby is an inconvenience, will get in the way of bikini season, hinder a chance for promotion or career advancement etc, is like a slap in the face of women who want to have children but have to spend tens of thousands on fertility treatments to do it, or those who just can't? Those women do all they can to have a baby while others who could have many just suck them out and toss them away like a used news paper.

Off logic being presented here, one can not say it was unwise that a person who comes into a fortune or has a winning lotto ticket allows the ticket to expire, or simply blows the money. Specially when so many desire the chance being squandered by the winner.

Second. Those women who are not mature enough to deal with the consequences of their actions maybe should not be having sex. After all, people who do not have the capacity to operate heavy equipment, drive or pilot aircraft are not allowed to. Society don't say "well, we will let them go ahead because they have a right. And if it turns out to be a mistake, or they have an accident, oh well" Women with "problems" who, as some say, would not make good parents. The only logical solution would be to sterilize them, then they would not have to worry about being a mother in their deminished state.

Outside of being wrong or right, sinful or not. The fact is the same always. Many women who are able to have children simply are not really greatful of it. If it were air instead of a child they would be happy they had it over those who did not. And if not, nothing canbe said of anyone who has an advantage but opts not to use it, be it scholarship, lotto, job promotion

Sigi, that is a good point. Those who pass over children already here who have no hope of being reunited with their, are giving them a "slap" of sorts. I think it takes more effort to love a child with no genetic ties. But it still doesn't erase that some give up easy what you can not buy at any price,

Isn't it a slap in the face of poor orphans or other "left over" children that there are couples spending tens of thousands on fertility treatments instead of adopting? They are allready born and need love and care?!!

I've been on both sides of that fence. Years ago, as a divorced single struggling mom of 3 I got pregnant. I had an abortion. I felt I couldn't sacrifice any more for the 3 children that I was already responsible for. They were here on this earth needing me. The father did not want be to do it. He was drug addict and and alcohol and begged me to cartry the baby and give it to him. Not a good idea. Now, years later I cannot carry a baby to term. I've had 3 second trimester losses. I don't think I'm getting what I deserve so don't even try that. No one has the right to judge. I have friends you have had abortions since I've had my fertility problems. I feel sad that I can't have a baby but I don't blame them. Women who have abortions go through a lot to make that decision. It's not easy. From what I've known these women were in abusive relationships or unable to support themselves and a baby. Adoption is not always a good idea as the women's health, mentally and physically may be compromised during pregnancy. For instance, I know a woman with an eating disorder and depression. It was better for her to terminate her pregnancy than go through and have the baby and give it up. It is so important in the world today to not be judgmental and to look at all sides. I am sorry if you are not able to have a baby, but that is what God dealt you. Stop wallowing in self pity.

i just read what other people have wrote and they are right .i was told i shouldn't have any more children as it isn't fair for people who can't .work that one out i have eight wanted babies and love them dearly but a lot of women have abortions not because of bikini or inconvenience but there in situation where it would be better not to bring a baby in the world.they are in a violent relationship ,raped one night stands disability and so on try not to judge .we have enough unwanted children in care and I'm sure they have took a lot of time making there decision.

People that do have abortions have their reasons for doing so and you cannot say well there are so many childless couples in the world that would adopt the aborted babies but it is not their fault that others cannot get pregnant.
It is not anyone's fault that some women can't conceive.

I'm _very_ tired of the bitchiness of the 'TTC' crowd in that regard...

One woman's fertility problems are not a valid reason for another to carry a baby she doesn't want.

Take the loaded word -- 'abortion' -- out of there for a moment. You know: isn't it a slap in the face to women who can't have a baby for other women to use birth control?

The minority of women who are 'TTC' who occasionally visit the 'Pregnancy' section here to berate scared young girls, blither about Jesus, and say 'GIVE ME UR BABBY!' are unnerving, to say the least.

One woman having an abortion has nothing to do with another who cannot conceive. The one who has an abortion will be judged by God. The one who cannot conceive need not think about the other.
