I have never known a recruiter who lied.

In fact your question betrays an ignorance of the subject.

Many of the features military recruiters speak about are possible. You may have to re-enlist, pass the physical requirements and show you can learn the specialty you want. By the time that event would happen the recruiter will be a distant memory. In short, there's the right way, the wrong way, and the military way.

I think recruiters are in a position of sales. Every salesperson has their own routine of making a sale. Every salesperson tries to tailor their pitch to the audience.
In my case, my recruiter was honest and forthcoming on every question I asked. In today's military, there are so many options for enlistment that recruiters that lie are just doing a disservice to their branch.

My recruiter didn't lie to me when I joined in 1984, and I completed my 20 years and retired. I was also a recruiter, and I didn't lie to my kids.

I have met many. Military recruiters don't have to lie. They just depend on you to have selective hearing and hear what you want to hear. Works every time.

Yep. Mine didn't. He was 100% honest and accurate in everything he told me when I enlisted.

And it's obvious that "The Common Sense Fairy" has neither military service or common sense in his background.
