Great question... and there is no right answer- it all depends on your own body. My water never broke after plug came out & I went into labor four days after at 35 weeks... Best advice- just keep your doctor informed and wait and see what happens. If you are around or near your due date then you know this is just a normal progrssion and your body getting ready for birth.

I know you are probaly anxious , as we are were with our first children - but honestly if you poll my ten best woman friends, everyone has an entirely different birth experience - and your body will act as it will... so hang in there - start preparing for the BIG day and enjoy this special moment in your life!

The plug can come out early, way before labour is ready to start. But then, her water may break early, too... You need to talk to your doctor/midwife about this, as the plug's function is to stop nasties getting in - once out, the doctors need to keep a closer eye on things.
My personal experience was that the minute the plug came out, I started getting contractions. All very clockwork. My labour only lasted a few hours, and I remember I was deep into labour before my water broke - I was on the bed in the delivery ward when it happened, and the birth itself wasn't too far behind.
And just for your curiosity, for me it was a huge gush of water and it had the distinct sound of a water balloon popping, lol.

You need to call your gynae NOW and get her checked out. The 'plug' is there as a barrier to protect your baby from infection from the outside world. When it's gone your baby it at risk of infection. your gynea will want to monitor your wife to see that everything's ok. Waters do not always break by themselves, it's not like in the movies. labour can be induced by rupturing her membranes (breaking the water). If her waters do break she must remain sitting or standing ok? then the baby's head will create a barrier to the birth canal and keep as much of the fluid in. I was in labour for 34 hours, with contractions five mins apart for the last 16 hours (!!!!!! it was a really bad hospital!) before they realised my waters weren't going to break by themselves, and as soon as they broke them my daughter wa born within 5 mins. Good luck! :)

I lost my plug approximately 10 days in the past, so far no infant. You dont might desire to fret relating to the GBS+, once you flow to the wellness facility they are going to start up an IV. Now relating to the water breaking, your water doesnt ought to ruin so which you would be in exertions, many babies are born "in the caul" meaning that they are born with their bag of waters in tact. So what ought to you do? in case you have contractions many times (i've got faith each 5 minutes for an hour is the guideline) flow forward flow to the wellness facility. you additionally can flow whilst your water breaks, yet dont anticipate your water to break at domicile till you desire a house beginning reason it ought to no longer take place till you have more advantageous very far. For the soreness, take a bathtub or a bathtub and notice if that helps slightly. verify you're eating a lot of fluids and eating what you are able to. ultimate desires for a happy beginning!

you can loose your mucus plug like even a month before you deliver although you should report it to her health care provider asap and when her water does break it may not be like a huge puddle it could just be like a small leak like a trickle
